Meet Mikayla, from Saves A Fox. She used to run a fox rescue/sanctuary with 2 locations. The Youtubechannel SavesAFox is a big one, with a lot of foxes being famous, most notably Finnegan Fox for his distinct laugh.
Mikayla was, unbeknownst to me and quite a few others, bullied relentlessly, aparently by some "snark" redditors. She ended up taking her life as a result.
I have been following her channel for a long time. I got attached to her and the foxes in her care. The care for the foxes will continue, Saves A Fox still exists, ran by her loved ones.
My heart aches. I am not sad. I did not reach that stage yet. I am firmly planted in the stage of unyielding rage at the moment. Rage at the bullies doing this. Rage, because I went through a part in my life where I also tried to off myself due to bullying. Rage that I will get bullied again, if I come out. Rage that this bullying of a wonderful woman went unpunished, by police, or Reddit.
Rage that people are this petty, this cruel. I will not sour this post with revenge thoughts. I will simmer in my rage, waiting for the grief to strike.
Rest in peace, Mikayla. I hope you can take care of the foxes in the afterlife. I hope that those bastards who bullied you will get something horrible. I hope that Saves A Fox will endure, that your wish will remain alive. As long as Saves A Fox exists, you will be with us.

She was on the spectrum. The bullying involved people she knew. They spread lies about her, how she mistreated the animals in her care, that some exotics in her care were personal pets and bought, that she kicked her foxes, etc. This isn't your online persona, this gets unwarranted visits from animal protection who want to close you down.

Looking a little further into it, it seems like these were not all random strangers on the internet - rather, some were people she knew (and considered 'friends') and others were people who ran other rescues/sanctuaries and decided to try and say that what she was doing was wrong/abuse/whatever - possibly because she was more famous than they were. That kind of thing would just make the comments hurt all the more.
