I LOVE BOOKS.

1. About three years a fellow imgurian asked me to share my favourite books. Then I went overseas and left all my books at my parents' house. Today, I'm responding to that ancient comment. I don't have a nice book shelf to show you because all my books are in piles and boxes, but I do have some nice books and reading recommendations.

2. This is the folio version of Lang's Pink Fairy Tale book.

3. And here is a much cheaper version of the Olive Fairy Tale book. I have not yet been able to find the others in second-hand book shops.

4. I was at a traditional singing weekend and no-one was talking to me. On the second day a man come up to me. "Pssst, kid, are you the one who loves books?" Me: "Um, yeah," Him: "Come to my van in the field I have some ballad books." *At the van.* Him: £100 Me: Great - here you go. Him: Here's the books. Me: Ummm.. I fly to Saudi tomorrow and can't take them. A year later he dropped them off at the local university and a year after that a friend collected them

It's a miracle I still have money.

12. Yes, yes, I'm 33 (a wizard I believe, by now), but I still love Narnia.

13. The complete Austen.

14. Almost a complete set of Walter Scott's novels. The others were in another room.

15. I love my Tolkien collection.

16. A modern reproduction of the Anglo-Saxon Chronicles.

17. The Decameron.

18. I haggled for these and have loved them for years.

19. Not a particularly nice book but one that I would recommend.

20. A modern twist on fairytales. Did I mention I love folktales.

21. I also have this on my e-reader. Kenko writes about opening a book and having a conversation with someone who died hundreds of years ago. He explained exactly how I felt about reading Kenko himself.

22. Already a well-known read, but this book is the start of a 12 (or 13?) book series. When I was an undergraduate my roommates took me too a bar. I was bored and I heard a girl across the room saying "I I like reading. David Eddings is my favourite..." and suddenly I was by her side and we have been best friends ever since.

23. I only just read this one. It's a bizarre but beautiful novel written in the early nineteenth century about the end of humanity. It is kind of odd but a really enjoyable read.

24. The beginning of another series I've loved for over 20 years.

25. Do you like murder mysteries? Of course. Do you like mediaeval monks? Who doesn't?! This series is about a detective monk during the Anarchy. My favourite book in the series is 'One Corpse too Many' but I couldn't find it in the boxes.

I also love Lindsay Davis' Roman murder mystery books. My favourite is 'See Delphi and Die.'

Be warned though... the quality of both sets of novels is really uneven. Some of the books are great and some are just trash.

26. Not the first in the series, but another long-term favourite. Starting with The Clan of the Cave Bear Jean Auel's novel is set in prehistoric times and features the first and most important Mary-Sue (called Ayla).
