I am going to work on consistency. The first character in my webtoon/webnovel...that is right, my buddy convinced me. Says "the story seems to be visually heavy so might as well make it a visual story".
I decided to start my Art Bible by working on Lord Gideon Hartwell. He will look more distinguished in a bit, since he is more of a high end family, HOWEVER I feel right now he is giving a too generic look. I am going to age him up a bit, learn the design, and become consistent in the art. In the included timelapse, you can see I struggle with consistency.
I realize that I didn't use the whole body reference, for everything, but I feel I need to master Gideon's look before I can start adding more.
I should have started with the main character, but I feel to practice on my favorite character would be best. I was thinking of restarting my patreon, but I don't want to do so until I can commit to a schedule. I have taken personal leave time from work starting in August to work on my projects. I had to cut this study short because I work at 2:30AM.
I do want to hear your opinions on the style. I guess it is hard to tell the styles without a piece to compare it to and without any shading. I am thinking more soft eyes as Lord Gideon has devoted his life since things to run multiple orphanages in and out of Azure....however he was also a support for the groups that went out and dealt with magical dangers. He powered up his sister who, though having a pitiful magical reserve, could master techniques in record time. Gideon was the battery, Layla was the frontliner.
