#9 REALLY should be one again. Starting in grade school. Learn touch typing, basic command prompt, parts of a computer, and basic html concepts. By high school have them learning keyboard shortcuts, some programming, and how to debug things. They way us millennials learned.

#11 Only parent who supported me was my drunk dad. When I came out. He was proud of me. A fat cow other hand.... thinks I had a mental illness for me liking boys. I'm glad my father took a divorce from that bitch. Also she spread rumors after divorce that my father was violent and cheated on him. He did not do those thinks. My father is sober nowadays.
TheMostKink
Sounds like you supported each other. Good on him for being there for you, and good on you for defending the truth for him.

#42 I like the math part of this. But it’s not *that* exciting.

Hey I might use those tabs some day

#14 The first one ain't wrong. Energy drinks are shit. The other two are great if you're just some regular person fartin' around lacking self-care but they're a bit like saying "the best way to walk up stairs is with your legs" to someone who has no legs.
mouthfullofpebbles
"the best way to motivate yourself is to stand up directly when you wake up, raise your hands in the air and say YEESSSSS! It'll keep you in a positive mood all day, works 100% of the time!". I believed them, and spent another 10 years in hidden crippling depression wondering why I was so broken that normal cures didn't work on me, wheezing YEESSS to a life that decided to stomp me raw every day. Energy drinks was the stimulant that kept me from giving it all up though, until I got meds!
Feralkyn
I'm a BIG fan of coffee, myself. For some reason it's regularly perceived as unhealthy, despite reducing all-cause mortality and having virtually no drawbacks (except fairly mild tolerance/addiction, and being problematic IF you have high BP and are sensitive to caffeine). I don't have it with sugar, and to me sugar's theeeee worst part of energy drinks. Diabetes and sugar crash in a can, or cancer if you drink the fake stuff.
But water as an energy drink? Lol to that, I say. LMAO, even.

#26 this is a little weird to me because it seems to be an experience the majority of ADHD-havers go through, but it’s not quite the same for me.
When I’m on my ADHD meds, my mind is never quiet. There are still multiple thought tracks going on, and it jumps around like normal, I just have the ability to turn down their volume until I can focus, if that makes sense.
One thing I can’t do under any circumstance is have zero music playing, but I CAN choose a chill and somewhat quiet track.
completelyordinary
Have you tried different meds, or just the one? My partner describes an experience similar to yours for the meds he's on now, but he's also had the "quiet" when he tried something else before that.
BenYourFriend
I’ve tried Vyvanse and Adderall. It was generally the same experience on both, except that on Vyvanse, I was extremely irritable during the wearing-off period. Adderall’s been working well enough, so I haven’t tried anything else

#10 yes, a class my parents could not afford to pay. I did learn to type on their old typewriter tho, so now people complain i hit the keyboard too hard… force of habit

#16 Our kitty Tevvy was like this. If he was playing with an approved toy and he knew we could see him playing with it? He would keep playing like normal. If he was playing with something that was NOT an approved toy (like a used bandaid he'd fished from the trash) and he realized we'd spotted him? He would immediately pick it up in his mouth and bolt for the underside of the nearest bed. He KNEW when he was being naughty.

#28 I see an alternate universe version of Doc Ock. Also why does Doctor Octopus shorten to Doc Ock with a k?
Omicron416
So they're both three letters?
TheMostKink
Doc Oc just looks silly.

#1 Literal hundreds, if you include the tab manager plugin as well, there's thousands forever lost in the graveyard ;o;
goaldigga
If mine didnt crash regularly, I'd be in the same boat.
VinnyTB
I picked up onetab to just batch save all the tabs. I have boing it for a couple years. I have actually gone back to look at the tabs again like 3 times.

#11 ..."green"?
TI99Kitty
TBF, it's kind of a teal or maybe aqua color. Whether it's green or blue is probably a matter of opinion/preference? 🤷
TheMostKink
Green Fox, the teal fox, next to (with a healthy, respectful distance) Red Cat, the blue fox.

your ability to deal with shit is measured in a unit (spoon) and some people only have so many units each day to use to get things done

#1 I've never understood this. I clear tabs like it's a religion.
cyno01
I have a pinned stack of tabs, but its like weather and server status and chat programs and stuff i want active, and rn an extra tab of a package tracking page temporarily pinned open, but yeah regular browsing just gets read and closed. If i need to save something for later i bookmark it, and if its something im gonna need a lot the bookmark gets put in the speed dial.

1)My tab collection lives in the same brain space that makes me hold on to lumber, scrap metal, tools, jars, buckets, barrels, drawer pulls,

4)my tabs and it's all worth it. Patience is the part that most people don't practice. Eventually it all comes around, or it doesn't.

Ah, see, much like my massive collection of all my junk, I just have it memorized or screenshotted. When I find something useful, I either just remember what the website was and the descriptor, or especially if it's a recipe, I just screenshot it.
My junk will never go anywhere as I know exactly where all of it is at and at least twice a year I need something from it and will fix a problem using it. Drives the wife insane.

I also treat it like a religion, in that one cannot worship at an empty altar (I also fundamentally misunderstand every tenet and facet of religion)
goaldigga
This is a vibe and I downvoted it.
abrubtopinion
I bookmark it and never look at it again like an adult. I've got folders and everything.

dunkum09
at home i do that. at work, i have no fewer than 15 tabs in at least 6 separate windows open at once.

I'm not understanding the meme at all though. This kid was a school shooter.
bubblesuit24601
Oh yikes
Batty
There is no maximum number of notepad.exe tabs you can have open, but it stops saving temp backups at 256 tabs.
I will never forget never remembering what was in the additional 500+ tabs before my computer randomly crashed, but I'm sure the secret of life was somewhere in there. Oh well.
Bubbells
Last I checked I had like 8 windows open, each has at least 200 tabs open with some over 1000. Thank goodness not all of them are trying to be active at once
Waidonut
I never clear tabs, then 6 years later I upgrade to a new phone and am unburdened
DragonThunderUndertaking
Me too, though I was there 3000 years ago when 3 tabs would actually slow down your system noticeably, or cause it to hang etc. I never got over that even though my current machine could handle them I rarely have more than 4 open at a time, unless I'm in the process of actively cross referencing or researching something.
spookyu
People forget when Firefox became an absolutely bloated mess for a few years, having more than a couple tabs open was asking for trouble (it's slowly heading that direction again, unfortunately). I'm of the same habit for the same reasons.
peeopeepeee
Android 4 with 1gb of ram baby. I had a Pentium 4 system that couldn't run chrome as well, let alone 3 whole tabs, so I know the pain.
