I married my love on International Hobbit Day just as a courthouse wedding before we left Australia (I actually for some reason thought International Hobbit Day was the Saturday the day after, and when we got home after I was like the universe knew better than I did) and then several days later we had our formal wedding celebrations in Hobbiton in New Zealand

And I mean, COME ON, check these photos out

My inner nerd is still freaking out

We didn't let the rain stop us from having a wonderful day

SERIOUSLY

I am as happy with these photos as I am in love with this human (which is a lot)

Yes, the reception was in the Green Dragon Inn

And the ceremony held in the beautiful Mill House

If you ever have the chance, I highly recommend visiting Hobbiton in New Zealand. Also, there are so many other cool things to see. "Mount Doom" near Taupō, the Weta Workshop and other filming Site Locations in Wellington, and the glacier film sites in the South Island too.

Honestly, New Zealand is just one of the most wonderful places to visit on Earth.

New Zealand is a fantastic tourist destination, the LotR site visits are great additions. We did the filming site tour out of Wellington and it felt surreal to stand on the path where the hobbits “get off the road!” and hide from the Nazgûl.

My wife took me there for our honeymoon. We visited WETA, and the day we were touring, the guide goes "oh, Peter's here." Everyone got disappointed when they didn't see Peter Jackon. My wife lost her mind when, through the glass, she recognized Peter Lyon crafting a sword. That's when I knew I married the right one. I hope your visit to Middle Earth was as magical as ours!

Looking back through your old posts (I wasn't sure from this post if you were the bride or the groom and wanted to figure it out) and finding this one from a few months ago makes this even more cute! Congratulations to you and your husband! /gallery/FdAuGdb

Pretty soon you'll be able to walk through a complete Hobbit home. My wife and I were there about a month ago and they're redoing the place next to the party field.

Shut up, this is the best thing, not a single wedding is ever going to top this. My sister had Concerning Hobbits playing at hers while they were signing the register and that was amazing

My boyfriend and I visited Hobbiton and some of the filming locations back in 2019. It was such a lovely experience and a beautiful country! I didn't know you could get married @Hobbiton. So cool! Congrats.

That's amazing!! How much did it cost or did they just let you do it???

In total, without the photographer OR any travel/accom, so just: wedding ceremony, venue, food + drinks and a tour for all the guests with the place privately booked (no public tours after our ceremony), it was about $8,000 AUD.

Well, he's from Canada and I am Aussie and trying to coordinate where to wed was hurting my brain, but we were talking about what to do for our honeymoon and then I learned you can have weddings there and when I suggested it, he genuinely lit up and I knew we had to. So we invited 25 people with no expectations for anyone to come as we would've gone through with it with only the two of us there, and only 1 family of 4 couldn't come, so we had a lovely wedding with only our favourite people :)
