I'm not looking for pity or invited, I'm just hoping to get some tips from others who have the disease and what works for them. So far I'm keeping a food diary and eating 5 small meals a day but I'd like to be as proactive as possible. (And yes, I wrote this on the toilet)

My boyfriend is doing the D'Adamo blood type diet and it seems to be helping. Maybe you want to give it a try.

I only know of a couple people in my life with it. Of those people, 1 went vegan to help alleviate the symptoms. She says is has helped.

Thanks for the advice! Being vegan wouldnt be too hard for me so I think I'll try that.

Ask your doctor about the Japanese worms that bore painlessly through your skin, excrete an enzyme, then get coughed out... (just ask.)

I did a whole30 and maintained a mostly Paleo diet and it got me off meds for almost 5 years. I have a flare every 5-6 years or so

It’s rough and I have to get on mesalamines and steroids but I’m pretty quick to get off them (3 mo) if I keep my yoga and eating in check

My dad had Crohns all his life. They can do a lot to help you. For him it helped to keep a celiacs diet but yours will be different.
TheUSofEh
I think I'm going to go vegan and see how that goes first but I'll definitely keep that in mind, thanks!
Kalamain
You are very welcome. Good luck.

Listen to the docs when they talk to you about triggers and management. And be glad they don't do what they did 60+ years ago!

My dad *never* showed anyone but my mum his stomach. Lots of scars... Very ugly.

Yeah, luckily my aunt is a doctor so I can quickly text her to ask about random side effects, etc. :D
