Dang I want one, but I kind of need both arms to put it together.

5 years ago we built ours and I too took pics along the way. 27 hours to build. /gallery/N7huStZ

These bigger sets have chassis inside for structure. The r2d2 is the most complex one I've ever built, and had some nice engineering in it. I would have to live outside if i got a millennium falcon.

She's a beaut!! Cats cute too

Unleash the kraggle!

Does any one else remember the dark times when lego didn't label the bags, and you had to rummage around through all of the pieces to find the one to were looking for?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You take out a loan to finance this one @OP ? These are worth their weight in gold. All that aside she's a beauty and it's an awesome set! Well done.

Congrats. Built that with a friend. It was a lot of fun. The final model is a little too heavy and flexible for its own good. Needs some significant stabilization to display any way other than flat on its feet.

If you think that’s going to stop be running around my flat with this while making Star Wars noises then you’re wrong.

The cost of it will keep it so far out of my flat it may as well be made out of plutonium.

I love the cat watching and waiting. "I'll let you finish first. Then, once you put it on display, my time will come."

I put this set on our baby registry.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'd love one of these but current cheapest I can see is £585, and that's currently down from usual price of £735. Really can't justify spending that much on.

Mine after i first built it back in 2019 i had a little accident :) when lifting it :)

I bought and built the $200 Falcon from Lepin. Never overspend in this economy.

Nah - the bricks that can't be seen when it's made should be random colours :P

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So did you get any lap time less than 12 parsecs?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I still haven't bought it...I am sure I wildly overestimate how quick I am building LEGO sets, since I don't regularly do it anymore, and time passes quicker when building...but this at least comes close to what I guess it takes to build it. Yes, people have other things to do as well, but if I got started on that box it wouldn't be possible to get me off it until it's done....
The slight problem: I don't even like Star Wars, so throwing money at this model feels a little dumb.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You could buy it for me, and I'll not only save you all the time it takes to build it, I'll save you the mental anguish of looking at it.

I put mine up on a stand. Very secure and looks amazing. VONADO Millennium Falcon Vertical Display Stand https://a.co/d/3dQyVCG

Yep that's what I put mine onto. It took about 5 hands in a space where only 3 hands fit, but once it was on, super awesome

Thank you for proving the timer.. puts the whole thing in perspective

17 laps...must have been difficult

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

#44 I was scrolling for this exact picture. I was hoping it was the big version of the Millennium Falcon, and I’m hyped that it is, the newer models, the smaller/ simpler models are kind of disappointing.

the mini-scale one looks okay, but the smaller minifig-scale ones are a bit disappointing

I mean, the first picture says it's the UCS Falcon. The UCS sets are always the big boy ones.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Also the ones with spiral bound instructions…and 4 boxes in a bigger box.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I didn’t know that. But good to know. I’m more of a casual Lego person.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Well, now you do, and knowing is half the battle! The other half is red and blue laser beams. Pew pew!

One day, someone will love tiny octopus enough to buy him one of these. One day.

They did at least just release a new, smaller scaled version of the Falcon for about $80. A little easier to find room to display.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

set up a go fund me, i'd happily contribute if you promise to show us the final result.

I bought mine in February for £300 second hand. It’s in perfect condition and sits on my desk at work at the moment. You don’t have to buy LEGO brand new every time, especially with the big sets. My problem now is that this was my unicorn and now I have to find something new to build. Not sure what will top it to be honest.

They say when we die we won't regret the things that we did but the things we did not. If you can afford it, don't wait.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nah, it's not that I can't aford it now. It's that I want my first "free" week to be spent doing something fun... Like putting a massive Falcon together.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I understand. Why not both? :)

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They have made a smaller version that is only $85.

2 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

I think Lego bases its pricing on part count, so $85 for 921 pieces makes sense.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah but it's smaller.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"Only". LEGO is such a fucking joke. I'm glad alternatives exist.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 9

Didnt expect to encounter so many LEGO fanboys/girls here. Sorry if that hurt your feeling but the reality is that LEGO is overpriced with bad quality. Competitors are releasing licensed models which look more like the real thing, have prints in a (much) better quality (LEGO uses stickers most of the time) and cheaper.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

A lot of competitors are Chinese bootlegs putting out unlicensed stuff too.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Agree with you. I got the same thing OP has but at an 1/8 of the cost. Great build :)

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

The licensed sets are usually inflated in price compared to the base stuff, and the Star Wars ones are usually the worst about it...

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

As much as I enjoy Disney tearing Ron DeSantis a new one, they're not the good guys by any means. There's making money on your product/IP and then there's Disney.
