Let's get this bread
Western Meadowlark
Stealth Sandwich.
A story from my life when I tried to make a Weed-infused mead to evoke the Scythian steppe: my story of the one time I went to a dispensary.
Meant to save this for a future meme post but, you know what, fuck it. Life is shit and rules don't matter!
Yes.
Meant to save this for a Roman meme dump. I'm a failure this morning! ?
Pippin tax!
Today's message from Pippin: "inconceivable! What doin?"
__
1) Are you on the run to a safe place and passing through Arizona on your way to safer grounds? My apartment is open to you to crash at, and it is a safe space. Pippin and I will make you a meal and gladly share tea, wine, or mead with you.
2) Hey! Take your meds with a full glass of water, please. Do it for Pippin, or Space Mom, or better yet, do it for yourself.
3) Ĝefeloað wē. We will carry on.
4) all funds from the sales of items at these two links will be sent to support charities aiding to fight for Trans rights in the US (not just T-shirts!)

Among the unloved creatures I would add also spiders and house centipedes. I will not disturb their homes within mine and they reward me with no unwanted bugs. I also save them from my bathtub pretty regularly

#1 what's ironic is German bread (and pretty much everywhere outside the US) has less gluten in it than in the US, so it's technically it should be less scary bread.
Have celiac. And yes I get the joke, I still find it ironic
Shaddak
#17 Some info on that, here: https://therealseedcompany.com/product-category/central-western-steppe-landrace-strain-cannabis-seeds/

#15 It’s for the bishop in Constantinople, who adopted the customary title for all highest officials in the city. Not only was there an Ecumenical Bishop, but also an Ecumenical Librarian and similar positions.
Gregory, who was pope himself, was strongly opposed to any self-promotion. Instead, he believed the papacy was a divine appointment that would manifest without one’s own direct involvement.

#1 As a German, this bread is the most American looking pastry I've ever seen. I bet it tastes like cake and would shout nothing but "HOWDY!" from the depth of its lungs.

Was looking through this thinking Cody would love them... and then i got suspicious after seeing bird memes. Looked at the op... Yup, its a Cody Burkett meme dump, no need to alert him. Well done!!
psugab
Me too! About the third obscure history one I had to see who posted
sirbartonslady
birds and history memes, that's how you know a Cody dump... and you'd think the Bread-themed first meme would've tipped me off, but no.

If they're going to try to go for German white bread specifically they should at least go for the staple.
hell, even actual cheap-ass toast looks less artificial than the paper in #1.
LucianofSamosata
Brötchen! It's called "Schrippe" here in Berlin :-)

Das ist Toast, nicht Brot!
LucianofSamosata
Genau!
RacecarIsRacecarBackwards

As a Brit I understand the problems of international stereotypes. But much like British food, when done well, German food is delicious.
astralfields
German and British home cooking have a surprising amount of similarities. We even have the same tradition of Sunday roast, just the exact ingredients differ sometimes.
highstream
American here. I'm very fond of British cheese on German bread.
Pilgrymm
#48 No, we typically kill zero people. And it's usually much more fun to be on a dig than what Indy usually portrays.
EroticZombiePants
"Typically" implies once in a while you like to go wild. I hope you are using ancient weaponry.
Pilgrymm
We can go wild as a treat. And I love applied anthropology, it's so fun.
brrrackobama
One digger, one sifter, two refreshment supervisors
Pilgrymm
We usually take turns, it can be pretty physically demanding. Also a lot of the time we had multiple phase 2/3 plots going.
brrrackobama
My roommates and I once needed to dig a hole ~10x10 feet, ~6 feet deep. It was shockingly difficult work. It turned into a neighborhood party with everyone taking turns in the hole and grilling and running to the liquor store.
Pilgrymm
Were you making a pool or something? Seems pretty specific size.

Pilgrymm
Just a little lick.
ShinyRoomba
Just one lick
EggFooYung
There was probably more killing back then, but it was probably also brown people, and therefore didn't count at the time.
Pilgrymm
You might be right, but those types of people were usually supported by let's say, nazi's? Aka the Ahnenerbe.
Apart from those types, people like what Indy portrays tend to be more categorized as Looters and Thieves than actual Archaeologists. Like going into a indigenous temple to remove a golden artifact isn't really what we're supposed to be doing.
Sure "it belongs in a museum" is a good statement to make about something, but why was it removed from its provenance in the first place?
EggFooYung
Or the English. I imagine there were people none to keen on "donating" their cultural heritage to the British Museum.
