My wife showed me this, and just stared at me...I understand!

Could you not buy from eBay instead?

I just went grocery shopping, Sunday 10 am, thinking everyone was home being cozy and relaxing. Boy was I wrong! Terrible experience, 3/10!

Specially THIS time of the year. The closer it gets to the end of the year, the more insane and the meaner people get while shopping. I'm lucky, I got most of my Christmas shopping done online and like ....a month ago and in person just like two weeks ago for the last little things. I even got my groceries for this month done too so I don't have set foot in a store or parking lot unless I want to. Which I don't.

And don't forget something I call Magi Day, which is when you give gifts that you bought on sale AFTER Christmas Day. Hey, there was more than one reason they're called Wise Men!

Amazon has bezos and I would much prefer dealing with the local townspeople than putting any money in his pockets

This. Unless it's something that is impossible to buy from any other store like my goddamn earphone cable, I will go to great lengths to avoid it.

Unfortunately, there are few local stores, and they don't have everything I need. Except Walmart, which I despise.

There’s two things I buy on Amazon for myself. 1) D&D/ttrpg books because they are consistently cheaper. And 2) Clothes because the security measures at my local stores has become absurdly inconvenient.

Lets see... buying on Amazon: Sitting in your warm room in your PJs, getting a big variety of the item you need and pretty good selection in color, size, etc., done; Buying in town: Getting dressed, scratching the Ice of your car, driving to town, running around in the cold, Stores dont have what you see, and you have to compromise for a color you didnt want in the end, and now the way back home...

Ok, but also, buying from Amazon: your money leaves the community and funds the takeover of our daily lives by billionaires. Buying from a store: some of that money might stay in the community and circulate before the billionaires can find a way to take it.

I think local stores need to get the note and start to be more convinient. They as well can have an online store and nowadays undercutting Amazon isn't that hard as they got quite expensive (at least over here)

If you think an independent store can compete with Amazon at their own game... well, I'd like to see the math on that

Also, if you can somehow make it pencil or, consider that Amazon can run at or below cost for a long as it takes for you to run out of money. Legal? Maybe, maybe not, but one sure thing is that even if it is, you can't afford to prove it.

As much as I hate the Bezos empire, I get it from an antisocial aspect

As little as I like funding the Amazon empire, I've read that Walmart (which I personally despise) brings in twice the green as Amazon, so I've softened my stance against Bezos. Plus, there is very little in the way of shopping around these parts.

You don't have any other online shops? I usually buy on a used stuff online shop where only private people post, also we have a bunch other online shops for everything, car parts, tech, clothes, pet food, etc.
