They are held captive otherwise. I currently live with a younger dog that isn't getting walked daily (I try 1-2 times a week at least, but it's not my pet and I don't want to give a routine no one else will sustain) and it breaks my heart
It sees the other neighborhood dogs get walked daily and maybe every other day, so it knows how many times it could get walked. I swear when they bark as someone passes it's "let us out, we're trapped here!" not "hey family someone is out there!" 😢

My dogs are on a schedule and they come find us, and glare until we grab the leashes. I have the mornings so it’s a bit less glare-y, but at 3:00pm every day they are on my husband.
