We live in the opinion age. If the media is using “I think” or “maybe” or “we believe “ it’s just opinion. Fact based news is very rare. I use sports to distract from current events but that “media“ is built the same.

Stop considering 24 hour cable news to be the standard of news. It is 100% trash and noone should be watching any of it. It has to fill 24 hours a day 7 days a week when news when there isn't that much news. This results in a content desperation you don't see in something like PBS newshour, or ABC world news. Hell, any outlet that needs to slim it down to less than 30 minutes. Want tv news? watch your local Over the air 6pm block then from there use the internet if a topic interests you.

The problem with independent journalism is that nobody is willing to pay for it. Those who investigate news stories and do research deserve to be paid. I didn’t click to donate to Wikipedia so I can’t say I’d be willing to donate funds for an independent journalism agency. However, if we were to somehow allocate taxpayer money to this cause, I’d be fine with that but I don’t think people would agree with me that we should stop paying taxes for useless things, like items of war or DEA

I like THE IDEA of tax dollars helping support journalism, but I can't personally think of a methodology to go about it which isn't ripe for abuse. Give certain companies guaranteed money? Asking for nothing. Pay based on how much the general public likes / reads it? Appeal to the least common denominator. How does one measure 'good journalism', so that we can incentivize it?

I really hate that someone decided to pirate Seth MacFarlane's voice using AI tools - developed by those billionaire owner classes in order to disenfranchise actors - to spread this message. The message is important. The information is factually right. But it's being spread by violating a person's right to their work and likeness. Had more than a few arguments with people about that. Also, maybe getting your news from a site built around showing pictures isn't ideal. (It's fine entertainment, but that's not where your news should come from)

There is some validity to a "both sides" position, but only to a point. Sure, you could both sides it when the best Republicans could come up with was a vulture capitalist in Mitt Romney for Obama's 2nd run, and then the Dems came up with someone not much better in Hillary Clinton for the next, and it isn't like the owners of MSNBC and other "liberal" outlets are left wing. That said, nowadays? It is comparing capitalists to authoritarian kleptocratic oligarchy and corporatism, NOT the same.

They simply wish to make them with freedom and peace.
Every marginalized group that “celebrates” their choices has to because of marginalization and push back.
I got a ton of upvotes from one announcement of someone saying they’re trans by simply saying.

Taking this as an example, some people post things because they're going through a very pivotal moment in their life. Others like to show them support.
It's not a crime to be indifferent about it. But when that's the case, maybe it's best to just move on. Ex. I don't join in sports conversations just to say, "I don't care about sports". »

I don’t have a choice in mind, that’s why I asked you. What you’re doing is called burden shifting: instead of giving an example to support your own point, you’re asking me to supply one. That tactic usually ends up avoiding the question and making the other person do the work. I’m genuinely curious about what specific issues you have with the left and why you feel unwelcome in those spaces. Not to attack you, but to understand and maybe broaden my own perspective.

I don't know what you mean by celebrate, nor what choices folks might be making that you're not celebrating, and I have a hard time understanding how that could make you not welcome in leftist friendly places.
