So the IT guy at work thought it would be a fun joke to add some of us on facebook to a flat earth discussion group on facebook (yeah they are actually real!)
And i came across this ridiculous post.
But it was nothing compared to the conversation where two devout flat earthers are arguing, one who understands the optics of a zoom lens, and one who doesn't.
Enjoy the read

Anyone else see the fact that flat earthers said to use a sphere?

This may be the stupidest thing I've seen in a while

Max is wrong, the top picture of 1M miles away is actually real. It looks fake AF, but it is real.
RatoMolhado
TL;DR. Anyways, sure it's some bullshit or another, coming from FErs I can't expect anything better...

Makes my head ache just reading this. ...And these people can vote, probably.
DefinitelyNotDavidDuchovny
Even if NASA is creating fake images, the physics still requires a spherical shape for planetary objects
glaug
These people are ill, you can't win them with reason. The overriding premise of their entire worldview is that the government is lying. 1/2
glaug
If you try to use evidence, the evidence is fake NASA propaganda. If you try to use direct observation, it's an optical illusion. 2/3
glaug
Either way, you're a NASA shill pimping the unproven theory of gravity and ball Earth, you're part of the conspiracy. Don't bother. 3/3
MrWobblyHead
My main question to these flat earthers is this; what would be the motive behind NASA pushing a spherical earth lie if the earth was flat?
Gnerg
Disprove the bible somewhere is my guess. Thats the most frequent non-financial reason people have to deny science.
MrWobblyHead
You don't need NASA to disprove the Bible. A history book can do that.

"The good thing about science is that it's true whether or not you believe in it" -Neil deGrasse Tyson

The bad thing about science is that if idiots control the budget, the science budget will get cut down.
digitreal
Very true.

And then we have positive feedback loop...

Cone Nipples vs. Spiral-Nipples ..., please...
NotQuiteDeadYetPool
That's gonna be a quick war. There's only a few thousand out of the billions of people on earth that believe in flat earth theory.
DexterGod
Guerrilla war fare. They will blend in and strike only when the time is right
NotQuiteDeadYetPool
I like to think they will try to kick people off the edge :D

Nah... there's an icewall.

So what if they're right and wrong at the same time and the edge of the world is the size of that hole and the world is globe shaped, but >
