Always salt, but don't pepper your steak until after cooking. The pepper will burn.

Such a great show. Shame I have to get Hulu again to watch it

That's a Texas-sized 10-4, good buddy.

Grill is best for a cut 1 1/2" or thinner. Pan sear and into the oven for thicker cuts. However, who can afford steaks with the current prices?

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

You're a C-hair away from getting sea sucking socked good buddy

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Sooooo... after over 25 years of being a vegetarian, I've stopped. My best friend is a gourmet griller. That will be my first steak.

C-hair. Not sea hair.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

fixed it

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

They all are right. Steak is good no matter how you cook it.

Was there supposed to be a gag in this dialog?

2 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 12

The entire thing is the gag.

I like it, but it's tiring, as were the Gilmore Girls from which they stole the schtick.

Having said that, Squirrly Dan is my spirit animal sos I let it slide.

"You're a C-hair away from getting sea sucking socked good buddy" DAMN say that 10 times fast

2 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Not salting a steak is pure blasphemy. I'm with Wayne on that one.

But yeah, Squirrely Dan is spot on with the pan sear.

2 months ago | Likes 159 Dislikes 1

Don’t they inject beef with brine like they do with chicken so they can increase the sold weight? Plenty of salt in brine, no need to add more.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Also Montreal Steak Spice does need to be in the conversation!

Especially for burgers! Mix it in when you pack the patties! Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Sous vide with butter and herbs, then sear in cast iron. Perfection every time

2 months ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

Delicious microplastics and waste.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 8

Yes sous vide, no to butter in the bag. Butter is the baste, no butter in the bag. The best flavors of the steak are fat soluble, so slow cooking them in butter (fat) actually draws them out leaving your steak less flavorful. Butter things like fish and veggies if you sous video those, but never red meat.

2 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Meh leave the butter for basting in the pan along with the aromatics. Salt pepper and garlic powder are all I ever add pre- sv.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

His heart is in the right place but he's missing kind of a core concept

2 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

I mean he's just participating in the conversation. Where do you draw the line.

This is mine. Starts in the oven, then in the pan.

110 degrees what? F or C? This is a vital question.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh whoops, sorry. It’s Fahrenheit.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I had hoped so ... but I've seen people destroy steaks too so ...

You're not wrong, but you're going to have to excuse me, I have steak to grill.

A c hair away from a strike yet

Montreal steak seasoning is a waste of good beef after you’ve had it once. Steals the spotlight

2 months ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 6

Heretic!

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've found it's great on pork chops

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Salt, pepper, garlic, and if you're in the mood, onions. I like to put some onions in butter and set it on the grill ad it's warming up. When it gets to temp, they're pretty much done. Throw in mushrooms if you want to. But yeah, the simpler the better.

2 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I’m partial to sliced leaks. Char them up and pile them on top

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Montreal Steak Seasoning is a fine product for a burger, but it doesn't go on a steak.

2 months ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 2

Yup

2 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Montreal steak spice with a dash of lea and perrins Worcestershire sauce makes any cheap beef taste wonderful

2 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You should have your steak anyway that makes you happy and not worry about what anyone else has to say about it.

2 months ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 4

This forum is for judging. Anyone reading obviously cares what people think so here we are giving honest opinions

Or maybe you can't hear me up there on that high ass horse

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

You sure took a fuckload of offense for me just saying eat what you like... I'm allowed to have an opinion as well. https://media1.giphy.com/media/v1.Y2lkPWE1NzM3M2U1Zm53YzlhZWM1cWN1Z3NzNWl4a2kzbmEycmExb2VlaGcyc3BsYzRqeSZlcD12MV9naWZzX3NlYXJjaCZjdD1n/krhW9yWEI0x0Y/200w.webp

Hahaha surely the opinion that we shouldn't give opinions negates the pact? You put yourself outside of the rules.

The rule of tolerance applies only to the tolerant. The intolerant will not be tolerated

You deny the shield of opinion to others yet clutch it yourself. I think not

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Correct.

I will say though: I knew a woman who ate her Steaks fucking WELL-DONE, DIPPED IN RANCH...and on principle of JUST THAT ALONE: I hated that person, and they're probably a horrible nurse if their career as a secretary was an indicator.

But yeah, enjoy your Steak as you like.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thank you. People hate on me for putting ketchup on it, but I'm glad someone understands.

2 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 11

Hell yeah. Sometimes I eat it straight, sometimes I hit up my fine selection of sauces, but there are times when you just need that childhood favorite.

The only assholes I know who refer to Alberta as ''Berta" are Ontarians and Ontario Expats. And they can fuck off back to 'Tario with that bullshit.

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 31

I'm from Ontario and I've never heard anyone there call it that.

2 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Almost as if Letterkenny takes place in Ontario...

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Basically everyone I know from Alberta calls it Berta

2 months ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

You Canadians should really stick together, you don’t want what’s happened down here to happen up there.

2 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

It's already happening. The Alberta separatists are a bunch of racist, immigrant hating, redhat wannabes. There was a cbc thing on it where they shone a light on how bigoted white nationalist their rhetoric was.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh god, this explains so much.

Context: I used to be acquainted with someone who could be called "a genetic anomaly". They were born intersex, and are half-black...AND they're gay.

The kicker: They're a High School Dropout Gun Nut with NO JOB and no real future prospects who ACTIVELY glazes 45/47, and his Boyfriend's Father was a LITERAL SS Officer that apparently fled Germany after the regime fell.

...yeahhhh. They are Alberta born-and-raised.

The "falling out" was because they didn't-

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

-like me treating Charlie Kirk's death with the exact same respect that he (C.K.) spoke towards others.

I was apparently "ghoulish" for qouting him when he was alive, and making the call saying that "he wasn't going to live" after seeing the video of him getting shot.

Good riddance to trash humans. Both C.K. & the acquaintance in question.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Welp. Get in there and stomp them, do what we should have done.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Fortunately for me, I don't live in that province.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What I mean by that is I don't have much influence in what goes on there.
