I think anyone living in the Immediate area of the twin towers should be able to get checked. I lived in Staten Island and while it still burned we could smell it from my house and my school. In addition we had no AC in my elementary school so when it was hot we had the windows open and it smelled like the fire. We should demand more test be done.

I had never placed a call to my elected officials, until he had the 9/11 First Responders on the Daily Show to talk about their health issues and how the government was refusing to help. I remember speaking to one of the staffers taking calls and she said their phone had been ringing off the hook after that aired.

I'm clueless here. How can the city be liable for the consequences of a terrorist attack? Every insurance policy I've ever read specifically exempts "acts of god" and "war or terrorist action". I have to think that a city would have the same sort of escape clauses in their contract with the people
