Overwatch did this. Its network protocol favored people on bad connections so even if you were clearly running behind cover, enemies would still see you exposed and were able to hit. It's why I stopped playing it.

Any shooter post OG Quake has very similar lag compensation. The problem was ynat hanzo shot actual logs instead of arrows and clipped people around corners.

i remember testing that myself in the training area and found that you could head shot the training dummies even if the arrow actually went to the side of the head as far as the edge of the shoulder

"what part of RYU WAGA TEKI.... did you not understand?"

It's a problem with no good solutions. In the simplest form: Either people can't hit what they see. Or people get hit by what can't see. Or I guess we could turn it in turnbased, which would surivive lags comparable to snailmailing the updates.

lockstep protocols address this problem, but it has the downside of everyone being dragged down by the person with the worst connection.

As said, there is no good solution. And while I completelly forgot the lockstep, I'm gonna claim I didn't and that's what I meant with the turnbased system ;P

I'll allow it. It's -really fast- turnbased after all ;)
