Make it for girls too. My daughter had impulse control issues and would hug strangers and.. pick up other children. Teaching physical boundaries is good for a lot of reasons, and not just for boys.
Obviously I meant girls as well, maybe should have added that. Teach them clear signalling and boundaries early on and it should reduce the amount of misunderstandings and uncomfortable situations later down the road. It's no different than teaching right from wrong.
This is absolutlely vital information. This also helps address the issue with girls that play hard to get or feel like a man should “work for it.” Those games only serve to muddy the water for “no means no” by making it “no means no” but sometimes it actually means “try harder.” If men learn and adhere to the lesson taught here, maybe those girls will stop playing those games.
This gentleman identifies as traditional conservative, and Bible study is up on that board as part of the timing. I'd rather kids learn this than the alpha male abuse camps
Ya. I never grew up in religious schooling. It was purely secular. Religion was addressed in social studies and history, but never as a teaching method. But back then kids would go to Sunday school or whatever if warning that something extra. While I agree, those alpha male gouls deserve no foothold in a school, I'm weary of religion as a mechanism is schools. But get people have different tastes.
This is fantastic. I hope they also teach the flip side that even kids have the autonomy to give (or not give) consent as well. The number of times I've had to correct my family trying to tell the kids to "give grandma a hug" and them reluctantly doing it despite obviously not wanting to is more numerous than it should be. Asking if they would like to give grandma a hug or a fist bump or would prefer to keep to themselves is 100x better and teaches that they too have agency in their interactions
That doesn't recognize the fact that women are often in danger when outright saying no though. The "coy" non-no was developed to keep them safe from men's violence, and there is no reason to presume that has changed. Teaching men to read body language is absolutely a pure good and imo a body saying no is just as real as a verbal no.
In my experience the average man becomes threatening when rejected. It's a gamble whether they will become physically violent, but it's enough of them that women need to protect themselves from it just in case. Y'all always act like there's this 1 masked violent man going around. It is most men. Teaching men is the only way to have them respect both kinds of no, women are already doing all they can considering they need to keep themselves safe.
I am a woman myself and no, this completely doesn't align with my experience. It's not most men, I refuse to even consider something this generalizing about a whole gender. We are one species, treating men as "other", different and scary will only grow the rifts between the genders, rather than mending them. If you teach boys that they're all potential harmdoers, this causes perpetual guilt, and that in return drives them into the claws of people like Andrew Tate that glorify toxic masculinity.
Unfortunately, as far as the societal norm goes, a "cute girl" can get away with a lot of shit that a man would get socially lynched for. For example, women touching men inappropriately at a disco is usually seen as raunchy, when men do that to women however, it's clearly labelled as groping. Orrrr male victims are simply not believed; famous example being Johnny Depp vs Amber Heard.
I don't know what exactly happened to you, but I am sorry to hear about it. May you find closure eventually.
I don't have any trauma or anything from it. I do feel like I'm yelling into the void whenever I bring up consent goes both ways, and obviously women are vastly more often victims so I bring it up it's treated as mansplaining assault. I wasn't afraid or like overpowered I was just very drunk and would not have said yes if I wasn't. Women have thrown themselves at me who I would love to hook up with but they're too drunk, I say no and get slapped and I know they want to, but no they can't consent
They are a prepatory school in a high crime rate area of Georgia. One would agree that these informal education methods could easily be adapted. If you care to reach out and ask for some materials yourself to share, they have a website where we can contact them
Albany is pretty crazy when I used to pass through there. Sadly I know of a few grown men around there that could've used this kind of instruction but they'd rather whine about how women say they're creepy and not make any effort to fix themselves.
Good. GOD. Do I get fucking tired of hearing that horseshit from dudes. "I can't even compliment someone without worrying about goin to jail". "Well fuck dude, I ain't never had that problem. Maybe don't be a creep"
B b b b their pathetic egos that can't take rejection!!!! What ever will they do?!?!
I used to be bummed about not being approachable until I found myself in a public line of work where I had to smile more and drop the stoic mask adopted from the military and railroad. Whatdya know I can have a pleasant interaction with beautiful strangers now! Narcissists get extra butthurt because they don't understand being genuine without an ulterior motive.

This made me happy - we need waaaaaaay more of this in the world

This should be integrated into sex ed everywhere in America.

It's really nice to see some anti-manosphere stuff being taught.

This is very important education, actually. I'm glad to see this being a thing. Now make this standard in all schools.

Precisely. Both genders need to learn that no means no, and its okay to say no.

Is there audio?
theSoulciologist
Thanks, the audio cut out on this one, I re-uploaded a version with sound confirmed

Not for me (on PC) - was wondering the same thing

Just checked two browsers on PC and neither worked. I thought OP was messing with me. Audio worked in the last gif a few posts back.

"Oh, but you're indoctrinating boys to not be boys!" -- the red hats would squeal.

Yep. They support a serial rapist and pedophile. They would absolutely hate this.

And how dare you try to give women the right to autonomy! -maga

Also needs the reverse tho, teaching girls that they don't have to be accommodating and can absolutely say No if they don't want something.

I'm pretty sure a man who's out and about harming a woman if she says no won't give a fuck about her body language either.
I'm also not saying that what they're doing here is a waste of time or bad, it's just not enough in my opinion.

Also need a different reverse, which is less oppobrium around sex and giving women the social space to be sex positive and say yes with enthusiasm.
Zedrapazia
Yeah, the whole "Baby it's cold outside" phenomenon of wanting to say yes but having to say no, that is just utterly confusing for everyone involved!
applesforjuice
Why dont they also teach girls that they need consent too? Certainly none of the women who raped me were taught that. Or even considered it.

I would be glad if the video had audio. English is not my native language, and the text goes by too fast to read.

Usually there is a small speaker symbol in the lower right of the video to click sound on or off

I know that. Still no sound.

I re-uploaded the video with audio on my page, thank you

Thx!

They need to teach this in elite college prep institutions

Shout out to the lady in the red dress too, she is doing an excellent job of demonstrating the body language that they're talking about.

Plot twist, she's not acting. She genuinely doesn't want to be there and he kept insisting until she agreed to do it.
