Wax stripper. Vct tiles like that have a wax that's put on. Sometimes you have to strip it off and start fresh. Like varnish.

I always thought it was a pointless waste of time as flooring is made to be durable but in several places I worked all the hallways were stripped, cleaned and recoated with polymer emulsion sealer every couple of months.

I think, where I work at least, they care more about the floor being shiny.

Thanks. My dumb arse thought someone had been treating the mop as a stripper pole and ruined the bucket while dancing around it, and this is a big enough problem in the workplace that they needed warnings
