As it stands right now, Trump has 3 million FEWER votes than he had in 2020. Harris has almost FIFTEEN million fewer votes than Biden had in 2020. There are still more votes left to count, but those aren't going to matter. The bar was low, but holy shit did we find a way to crawl under it. Whether this is a failure of Harris's campaign, the Democratic strategy of Biden stepping down, or something else, we are going to eat shit for the rest of our lives for this because they control all three branches now. With two justices likely to retire during Trump's term, he will appoint (and easily get confirmed) those positions and the GOP will have easy lifetime control of the Supreme Court. Those who sat on the fence or protest-voted, you did a good job of fucking this up not only for the country itself but for Ukraine, Palestinians, women, LGBTQ+, and countless others. We have no power to stop anything they want to pass.

Thomas and Alito will both retire and Trump will replace them. It won't change the makeup of the bench, but it will mean conservative control for decades to come.
