Finally got the Fisher SA1000 up and running

With a bit of light

And one of the XP-10 speakers.

How does it sound?
Well Tocatta en Fuge in D minor on the organ is so rich and deep....

Claire De Lune made me weep.

And after listening to Mike Oldfield Hergest Ridge, I feel like I should smoke a cigarette.

Even at a low volume, all the music.... is "there".

This thing has the power not to be loud but to bring all the music there.

Still more work to do on it, but wow....

How does one build an amp like this? Is there a starter set and course to do?

Well the schematics for the Fischer SA1000 are out there and to be honest it is surprisingly simple. The problem is the transformers, they weigh about 80 pounds and the reason is they provide the stability on the power input and the transmission of power to the speakers.

Use care with tubes though; the voltages at the plate are often 600 or so which is lethal.
