Today I learned I'm asexual

Oh look, took me almost a whole minute to find a better version to post.

I'm in this video and I don't like it

bbw

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

the part that cracks me up the most about this: I'm asexual and I really do just prefer to drink water.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I just like to WATCH my bottles. ;-)

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Schitt’s Creek does it better.

Talking about red and white wine, even if the bottle is marked differently.

2 years ago | Likes 112 Dislikes 3

Came down here to make sure someone said this.

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

That was defo a brilliant bit of writing. Really grew his character.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And in the end he just wanted whatever was the biggest :)

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

well then post it as I am to lazy to look it up

Stolen? That meme is so old it's public domain...

2 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 1

Ew but Pepsi is grody.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

cutting of the original content provider credit is theft.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So, you're saying Pepsi is gay?

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

It's saying that you're a pepsi.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

It's saying that when asked if Pepsi is okay most people feel it's better than nothing but once they get out of prison...

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's funny, but if I were being nitpicky I'd just say I don't love the way "transsexual" was done here. He made it look like it was a sort of sexual preference/sexuality (it isn't) since that's what the soda metaphor represented in the rest of the video. "Transsexual" itself is also usually going to be seen as an antiquated, crude term only used by the very ignorant. Some will self-label as transsexual, true, but most will prefer transgender. DON'T use the term if you're not sure it's preferred.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 4

Bill Cosby, voyeur and a couple more weren't sexual orientations either.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

I agree it wasn't great but mainly because it's not obvious to people that they're talking about people who prefer trans partners.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I can agree with that. Still awkwardly done, but it's no big deal.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh my God, the R Kelly bit.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

2 years ago | Likes 305 Dislikes 0

It cut off the best bit at the end "I suggest we go with this one, it's the biggest'

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Oh damn, it's in the subtitles

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I guess I’m winesexual

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I love how this gives lovely attention to bi, pan, enby, and trans people, and also to those people who don't feel like they fit or want to be defined. Labels are AMAZING to help people understand one another and themselves! But you can also just do whatever.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I love this. I don't like labels and I'd rather just be able to enjoy what I want to enjoy.

Yeah, that's what I don't like, being pigeonholed. I have a few labels I'll keep, but the rest can go suck a lemon. They're not my thing and I like that about myself.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

The world would be a much better place, huh?

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

ah damn, should I watch this show?

2 years ago | Likes 48 Dislikes 0

Absolutely. 💯

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

According to my excited self from 3 years ago, absolutely: /gallery/IzqTb72

2 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

Yep, it's pretty good.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

One of the best shows I have ever watched.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

yes, but just know that it takes a few episodes to really find its feet.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

so yes. it has its moments especially later on. but fair warning, this is def one of the high points. and it can be a bit cringy at times, though thats more for the “second hand embarrassment” than because the show itself is cringe. like i say its a fun watch, but like know what your getting into. (that said if you enjoyed Don’t trust the B in apt. 23, you’ll prob like this)

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I can't stand second hand embarrassment in shows like The Office but for some reason this is one of my favorite shows. Should probably rewatch it

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yes

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'd definitely recommend it. Couple of the characters I despise (Moira...) but David (guy in the gif) has some of the best character growth I've watched. No real complaints from me as a show. Plenty of funny and wholesome moments while also occasionally bringing up potentially touchy subjects in a good way.

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I liked the show I couldn't stand the mayor character

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You’re just mad that you can’t fold cheese correctly.

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Moira!!! Damn son. She was hilarious.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Transsexual is not a sexual preference, partly why most people say transgender these days.

2 years ago | Likes 73 Dislikes 6

As someone else pointed out, some of the other skits weren't about sexuality either, so we could assume that they were trying to demonstrate someone having undergone surgery (which, technically, IS what "transsexual" refers to, though we don't know enough about the soda to know if it prefers that term...because it's soda), without necessarily conveying a sexuality. The edit that someone else posted, which just says "trans" for that part, is better, in any case.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I consider myself an aggressive ally - however it had never occurred to me that gender and sexual preference were completely separate, until the Caitlin Jenner special. The idea that a transgender woman would still be attracted to women blew my mind, but it’s totally obvious once I gave it 4 seconds of thought.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Often times, when people question their gender, they also question their sexuality. I definitely did, just turned out I like both 😆

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Transgender is the umbrella term for a lot of variations but Transexual is still valid saying trans woman/trans man or trans femme/masc is just the shortened from of it, it's usually T****y we have an issue with.

2 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

There's a lot of transmedicalism wrapped around the term. It was coined by a cis psychiatrist who had some shitty views.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

My understanding would be that transexual is when your biological sex doesn't match your perceived gender, and transgender is when your perceived gender doesn't match your biological sex, so the two would be pretty much the same and interchangeable. I'm probably missing a lot of the whole picture and probably the two terms are used for different things, but that's what (linguistically) makes sense to me.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Someone else pointed out that the former also implies having undergone reassignment surgery, so that physical sex ≠ genetic sex ≠ perceived gender, and that mixing the two terms might be considered offensive. I want to clarify that that was not my intent.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They're the same thing. Transsexual comes from crusty old psychiatrists and is best left in the past. Unless someone specifically tells you to call them a transsexual, transgender is the preferred term.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

OK, good to know. "Transexual" sounds weird to me anyway so it'll be easy to avoid.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But sex and gender can be synonyms.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 11

I mean sure, you're allowed to be wrong =p

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I meant the textbook definition: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/sex

Like sex is used as a word for gender in jokes quite often.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Your confusion is easier to understand when you realize that joke is so old the term gender was not commonly known, if even invented yet.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Did you not read the page you posted? It specifically says that gender and sex have been differentiated for at least 25 years, maybe more.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

No, they can't - but your sex and gender can be the same thing. Or not. Hence why they're not synonyms.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Is this something I don't get because english isn't my first language? Like I already responded to the other person, I meant it as a textbook definition. I thought they both can mean the same thing just one is out of use mostly since it's used for something else much more often.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It used to be used incorrectly but is being corrected. Sex is your physical/medical situation, and gender is your social/identity situation.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Sex is your chromosomes and phenotypes, gender is how you identify and wish to present.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

sex is biological, gender is what they identify as. they can be same (cis) or not (e.g. trans, but also nonbinary). some languages do not have separate words.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

If your preference is trans, though?

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

Personally yeah, it's easier to say imo.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The word for that would still not be "transsexual" because transsexual is a term for people that have had surgery (and not all transgender people have had surgery, or will, so calling a random transgender person "transsexual" isn't just offensive (especially if they don't prefer the term), it can also just be objectively wrong)...

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Yes I was just asking what the term would be for, say, preferring a lady with a dick.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

...but the word for "prefers transgender people" isn't necessarily "chaser", either, because genital preferences are a thing, and they are valid. If it becomes problematic (read: dehumanizing/objectifying), THEN the person causing the problem is a chaser.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

So.. transsexualsexuals?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

...no, that would still just be a chaser.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Eh, I like mine better.
