She really deaf or just got tired of you mispronouncing words in her language so now she acts deaf just to ignore you!! My grandma had a deaf cat years and years ago and she was the cutest little monster ever because if you didn't approach her from an angle where she could see you getting closer she would freak out and jump around then slap the shit out of you once she realized what was going on. I used to love sneaking up on her and scratching her butt cuz it would startle her but she also 1/2
loved a good butt scratch so here she would be totally pissed off I had the audacity to sneak up on her precious highness and not announce myself so she would start to bolt and get ready to jump and slap until she also realized oh wait he is scratching my butt which I love so then she would just let out an exasperated meow flop over and let me continue to scratch her and while scratching her she would give me a soft smack with her front paw.
Awww give her all the love and scritches and treats she deserves which I would guess is all of them! My three current cats are two 4yr olds one is a chonky void boy the other is a svelte torbie girl and the last one is an 8yr old chonky and fluffy golden tabby boy. I've had cats most of my life and the longest one that lived passed away peacefully in his sleep at the ripe old age of 22 he was a tabby and started life out as a street cat who adopted us way back in 2000 and was around 4.

She's 16 and not very spry. So no beatings, just concerned startledness. Even the vacuum doesn't phase her now.
