HeyOP
I don't think he's getting royalties or anything
PissingMold
He is just the + in LGBT+
HellaFishsticks
What?

Pedo support? Huh.

The annoying thing is that NO ONE is asking for symbolic wokeness on TV we just want the police to stop killing black people.
iMuteMorons
Somebody is tho. Probably the same people that want special privileges for certain races rather than actual equality.
Zipbang
Please stop thinking social media accounts are people.
https://ballotpedia.org/California_Repeal_Proposition_209_Affirmative_Action_Amendment_(2020) I think the supporters of this bill are people
Thats not a "special privilege" it's righting a wrong. It'll go away one day but that day is far from now.
It's discriminating against individuals based solely on race. How the fuck is that not racism?
madmardagan
That's one of the best episodes in the show and it wasn't black face by any definition I'm aware of. Can we stop fucking things up?
itsjustabeaver
It’s virtue signaling at his best.
Aeithen
Nope. Banning and burning books is next. We're fighting fascism, don't ya know?

I saw that episode for the first time recently and couldn't help but think "why?" Chang was in the episode for like 2-3 minutes and looked
like he bathed in shoe polish. It didn't really serve any plot as he died right away. It just seemed pointless and thoughtless in my opinion
If they were going for more of the "Chang is insane" joke, I feel like a barbarian would have fit his character better.
Oh and Community does have some tongue and cheek racist jokes provided by Pierce so I can understand people's frustrations with it.

I think he was filming a hangover film at the time, so it was a joke to get him in the episode, show his ridiculous behavior, then move on.
That would explain the need to kill him off quickly. It doesn't explain the choice to paint solid him though.
It’s more a joke towards the amount of dedication he put into his character that died immediately. It’d be awhile getting dressed.
He was an elf. He had big fucking elf ears and a blonde wig. He didn't look black and if you thought he did you're projecting.
I'm ambivalent twords it. I can understand how it can be viewed as racist because him being painted solid black served no purpose.
Perhaps if he was more part of the campaign and they toyed with his paint job more but no, he just shows up, gets killed off, and leaves.
You're manufacturing racism where it doesn't exist because you get to pat yourself on the back for finding it. It's compulsive narcissism.

The people screeching about racism need to be ignored, not coddled. If that happened, most our problems would cease.
Just like claims of sexual abuse, claims of racism should be addressed on a case by case scenario.
We shouldn't avoid addressing credible claims of abuse simply because it would create too many problems to address.
The difference sexual abuse is a tangible crime, but too often "racism" just means "I didn't get my way".
People use fake sexual assault allegations to blackmail others as well. Either treat them both respectfully or neither.
That's because there are rarely any consequences for false claims. Start throwing those women in jail for 20 years and problem solved.
