I ate everything. It was actually the perfect amount for a 3 hour dinner. As a chef myself that does many tasting menus, getting the portions to be correct is a huge challenge. That's why they have 3 stars. Exceptional in every way.

I think the last four items on the menu are the only things I would eat

Everything was worth it. The menu had heart. Not just ego. I do the same where I'm employed. I love food and what it can do for people. It was all wonderful.

I’m sure it was. I’m just not into that type of food for the most part which is why I don’t frequent such establishments. I especially hate places with a set menu. I don’t like certain things and if I have no control over it, I’m not gonna pay that kind of money to not eat something

They knew I was a chef. I told them. It's my career. They asked me if they could do whatever they liked. Of course I said yes. In translation, they got to deviate and did whatever. Chefs impressing chefs. It was cool.

Understandable. I'm just adventurous when it comes to food. I could never afford to buy the ingredients for the meal I had so it's kind of a deal to me. I'm not rich by any means. This was the first vacation I've had in over ten years where I can make myself broke for the next couple of weeks.

Aww yes, the "3 oz of food but served on a fancy dish in a fancy way, that will be $7,000" course. If you can eat your entire dish in a single bite, that is a snack not an entrée

I posted this for those that understand. I don't understand your Warhammer, online video game thing. Or model trains but some of us enjoy delicious food done artfully. I'm a chef so to be up close to this craft means something to me. But I'll fuck you if you are to busy a cunt to go fuck yourself. If you don't understand, ask your mom for some milk and to be tucked in.

Oof, struck a nerve, sorry. You'd probably be less angry if you didn't spend $2,000+ on a single meal, in this economy.

Can you tell me why you're so bitter? I did a once in a lifetime thing. I'm almost broke from this vacation. Our country is fucked so I thought I'd do a final lap before I can't. Can you comprehend that fucko?

Online point whore based on your history. How're those fake points working for you on real life!? Do you have a job? I do. But I can fucking troll you back all day.

If you have any cognitive forward thinking you'd have an accurate cost of a meal like this. Oof @-_-@ :/ :p it's like 400.

And economy has nothing to do with an industry Chef finally to getting a vacation to actually enjoy themselves. I'm not rich by any means. I'm trying to enjoy myself before your type is gifted the side of ignorance and paid for it

I'm broke as fuck trying to enjoy my life. Mm maybe you should try to do it in the real world.

They’re envious and not worth engaging. Some people are just pricks if they see someone doing something nice.

Food looked amazing and was that price all in with wine pairings?

I spent 515 total. It was a fucking ballet. I was given a tour of the kitchen. I met the chefs and shook hands albeit briefly because they were busy.

I paid for 2 glasses of wine. Around $40 US. The food, experience, the thoughtfulness, every detail was a show. Without it being a show. They cut me like a hundred off the bill without saying. My bill said $42. Gratuity is included and they are very upfront about it. In all I I paid $510 for one of the best meals I've ever had. I'm a Chef. I don't say this lightly. It is research.

They accommodated me well with a nice Rijoa for red and a pink grgiio Sauvignon blanc blend. I chose the two cheapest by the glass.

While watching guests do a few spit takes. It was sad.

In the end. I had an amazing night that I could bArely afford at a place that treated my like fucking royalty. Not in a forced way mind you. Just a a good team that had the ability to make an old Chef feel good about his career choice. To see what the top can do and still be humble.
