I keep thinking March 30th is the last day of the month because that’s the day Wrestlemania 14 was on and it was a Sunday. That’s not even true. It was on March 29, but I think it was March 30 and have for 25 years.
LOL I just did this yesterday. Texted my buddy "I think X is gonna happen today since it's the end of the month and that will just make it nice and clean."
Hmm, good question... Would you rather have a whole year's worth of meetings on one day and be free of meetings all year? Or a few meetings every week all year.
im guessing theres not enough time in the day to do a years worth of meetings, but im sure id rather have a years worth of meetings in january and go on a 11 month meeting free binge the rest of the year.
Doing a year's worth of meetings in one day will just signal to people that you now have time available on the other 364 days to meet with them as well.
If you have so few meetings in a year that they would fit in a single day, why the hell would you be bitching about it. Your normal meeting schedule would have to be less than 30 minutes PER WEEK for this to work.
If you schedule meetings, are you really the boss? Or are you scheduling rogue meetings while your actual EA has scheduled meetings already? This is bad form
Happens to me all the time. People ignore blocks on calendars and book meetings anyway. Usually I decline and ask them to check my calendar first, but sometimes the audience is so large, you can't. I just delegate those ones.
Which leads to the next question: how is a supposed boss, who supposedly has meetings with such large audiences that they supposedly cant point out an error, so incompetent at understanding the nature of a question and answering it in a meaningful way.
No offense. I assume it’s because any accountability systems, oversight, bosses, or broader work culture, quality standards, are just as incompetent as the person making blatant scheduling mistakes. Paychecks for what? Let’s talk about it.
All I'm saying is that sometimes, it's not the "boss" scheduling calls. It's other people who put meetings on the calendar. If I have a high tier meeting that some executive assistant scheduled with 40 other people from across time zones, I can't bloody well ask them to reschedule just for me. You'd be waiting months for a meeting that works for everyone. That's why I just delegate those if I can. You can get layers of these meetings if you are on a global team in a large department.

I snorted a bit at this one.

How would you not know March 31st is real? Wouldn't the people calling to arrange the meeting and then accepting said meeting not tip you off?

This is why you say February 31.

I've been thinking about this for, like, a week.

If you can go most of the year without meetings, then why ever have a meeting?

Much less, people don't tend to do meetings beyond business hours
Phreddlicious
My boss was quadruple booked for a meeting this morning, so I had to send this to him.

Just a question, how is your boss so incompetent at scheduling meetings

Unconstrained requests on time was a real problem that our company culture ignored and why I quit being manager
FrolickingFrolicking
“People ignore blocks on calendars”
My question was how are people so incompetent at scheduling. My question wasn’t “can someone (basically) restate my question”

No bullshit, my wife thought today was April Fools' Day. Maybe she didn't think March 31st was real either...
Cthulhuonabike
It isn't. That's how April fools day came to be in the first place

✋ Done. She is pleasantly surprised there are so many people who can appreicate her "stupidity" (her word, not mine).
UhSadHJ84
Is your wife real? Asking for a terrible joke
cattlegrazer82
She's real. She goes to another school. You don't know her.

I wish to get to know her... I also choose this guy's wife

*insert WoW joke about OP and girlfriend being wildly different levels and he has to pick her up from school later.*

My wife loves that one, because she works at the middle school and plays D&D (not WoW, but still long-term dedication to a leveled character).
