My 2nd laser. This is a Tyvok X1S Pro with a 20 watt diode laser. I can engrave on 800mm x 2000mm. But if you want to cut through with accuracy you need to go really slow (3.5mm/sec). I am cutting a jig for slate coasters.

And 3 hours later. . . .

20W is pretty low for cutting, but I'd suggest going faster and doing multiple passes. It'll probably take slightly more time but the cuts will be cleaner

The machine doesn’t like doing high speed curves. I am used to my fiber laser and it really took a lot of effort to use such slow speeds.

Have you tried multiple faster passes with lower speeds?
I have both CO2 and diode cutters, with Lightburn you can easily set this up, and do material/power tests to tune your laser.

Simple equation comes down to double the speed = double the passes = same amount of time. I am running a 20w laser at 80% (very recommended output). My galvo MOPA fiber and 40w diode both cut far faster, just a much smaller size. Also, this gantry doesn’t handle curves or angles well. X or Y by themselves is fine, or just really slow. I use Lightburn as well.
