The Applebees I worked for would cook most proteins 1/2 way in the microwave, and then finish with grill marks. I wouldn't eat there.

Just about everything is "par" cooked. As in, partially cooked. Think veggies, mashed potatoes, rice, etc. stored in bags then microwaved.

I work at fridays and the only things we microwave are a small handfull of the sides. I think broccoli, spinache, and rice. 1/2
