Cap without powers.

This occurred when the Red Skull was able to use the power of the Cosmic Cube to change the world to his liking, and reverted Captain America back to pre-serum Steve Rogers. Too bad the Red Skull is a punk bitch, because he still got his ass beat.

Cap surrenders.

This happeneds near the end of Civil War, after a huge prison break occurred at Prison 42, a prison built for super villains in mind, and located in an alternate universe (The Negative Zone). The fight spilled out from the prison and into New York, causing a huge amount of destruction.

Cap and prejudice.

I've seen things suggesting that Cap might come out of his freeze unintentionally prejudiced because of the time he lived in, but this panel and the following one shows differently.

Cap and his gay friend.

Cap had a gay friend in the earlier comics and not only was accepting of this fact, but he later helped him overcome being brainwashed by a villain (also, he was breaking out of a force field, not beating the guy up).

Cap and the beginning of Civil War.

This is one of the first actions that lead to the Pro-registration vs the Anti-registration, when Director Hill tried to get Captain America on their side.

Cap and building.

After Stark Tower was destroyed (pretty sure during Secret Wars), Stark was left with financial problems and didn't want to rebuild. Cap wanted otherwise.

Cap and the Civil War Speech.

This is one of Caps more controversial speeches, mostly because you can argue that terrorists and generally shitty people can use the same type of rationalization that can be applied to this speech. Cap is more optimist when it comes to people however. In the Civil War movie he said "My faith's in people, I guess, individuals. And I'm happy to say for the most part, they haven't let me down."

Cap and the government.

Cap isn't merely a pawn of the government. Multiple times he has given up the mantle of Captain America so he could pursue what he felt was right.

Cap and a lost war.

Granted this wasn't the only American war he would have missed out on, but it was a nice touch to see that Cap really does care for the time that he missed while he was frozen.

Cap and the impostor.

After the "death" of Cap, a man named William Burnside tried to become the next Captain America. He even injected himself with the super soldier serum, but wasn't properly prepared for it, and fell into insanity. He tried to model himself as the real Captain America, but it was easy to tell which one the real one was when Cap returned.

Cap and the Dream.

Again, Cap shows that he will always put his ideals and moral above all else.

God Bless Momma America. Nuff said.

Also, Infinity War spoilers below.

I swear to fucking god I better not see any "but muh spoiler" shit in the comments.

Cap vs Thanos.
Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet absolutely destroyed the Avengers with no effort. He literally (actually literally) killed half of the universe with a snap of his fingers. Cap was still willing to fight a losing battle, and die, for an incredibly small chance at victory.

For anybody interested i have the whole civil war comic series posted on my profile.

Loved that scene between Cap and Hill in Civil War and his subsequent jump from the Helicarrier.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I really like the third one because it shows that Cap isn't racist or sexist, but he comes from a world that was. He's surprised at how 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

far America (And most of the rest of the world) has grown, but in no way is against it. 2/2

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As someone who doesn't read Marvel comics, these look waaaay better than the movies.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

“Or at organizing a cosmic assault, I see.” Damn, Thanos is no slouch in the witty comeback department.

Hail Hydra.

Those three panels where Cap silently steps to Thanos... one of my favorite comic scenes.

I strive to be like Captain America. Luckily in my family I was the one nicknamed as him. He is everything I wish to be.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Still mad at how they f-ed up Civil War for the movie... movie was okay, but had almost nothing in common with the source

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm kinda sad my favorite wasn't included. The one where Cap convinces Nuke to stand down with words instead of violence.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

that run in daredevil is, for me, one of the best I have ever read in comics. DD vol 1 issues 227-233

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wait what? What issue was this?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thank you. I’m a big fan of Cap, always great to see these tidbits about him now and again.

Hail Hydra

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If Thanos doesn't kill half the universe at the end of part 1 I'm going to ask for my money back

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I used to look at cap as one of the inferior heroes, but after the MCU I started looking into him and damn is he a great character.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If infinity war part 1 doesn't end with that shield being destroyed then I will be very disappointed.

8 years ago | Likes 202 Dislikes 1

Man, I want the MCU to end with a real fuckin' downer ending. The Infinity Stones are too powerful. Thanos wins. Game over. The end.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

It's for kids, remember

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If cap doesnt say "I can do this all day" to Thanos i will lose my fucking shit.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Remember how he (or anyone else) died in Civil War?

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

It needs to end with the snap.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's not "part 1" anymore. They apparently ditched the 2 part idea.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Thought they were just changing the name, not the content

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Maybe?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He doesn't have his shield in the trailer, he has 2 vibranium arm pads.

8 years ago | Likes 81 Dislikes 2

Maybe it's a hard light shield, doesn't he get one of those in some comic somewhere?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They used one on Agents of Shield so it's definitely possible

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"Somebody, get this man a shield" -BP

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

But didn't he give the shield back to Tony? He might still have it.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Yeah but he'll definitely be getting it back in one of the next avengers movies.

8 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 0

The next avengers movie IS Infinity War part 1. So, yeah.

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

It's technically a two part story. so, yeah.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

If Disney has the sheer balls I hope they do, Cap will die in Infinity War, beaten do death by Thanos. No stones used, no lasers fired. (1)

8 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 1

He'll just simply, brutally, bludgeon the symbol of hope to dust. And the cherry on the depressing cake will be Steve falling before he (2)

8 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

gets to even finish his line. "..I....can do....th-this....all....d-" *WHAM*

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Why would Disney want to undermine one of their own characters?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You must not have seen what they did to Luke in TLJ

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

If Cap doesn't die in Infinity War I will be disappointed. It will be a huge moment for the MCU

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I infer you're talking about a movie, but do these movies not follow the comics, and isn't this a comic story already?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

He probably will because Chris Evans is supposedly done with the part, like how RDJ is done being Stark. IW will likely be the vehicle to

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

remove all the characters whose actors aren't coming back- and that works because Thanos killed nearly every A-lister during Infinity War

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I feel the need to be pedantic against myself since we're all talking about The Infinity Gauntlet storyline, Infinity War was a sequel event

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I am not excited about Infinity Wars, not like I was when Avengers was first announced. MCU and I guess Disney wont let the dread build,

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

they wont risk their precious heroes disappear without recourse, they wont let Thanos ground down resistance. It will be light-hearted.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I had a DnD character that ended up being practically Captain America. He had a strange set of Morals, but god did he stand by them.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

how did skinny rogers beat red skull? I think thats not very plausible

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He touched his peck, laughed, and let out a beam of light

As much as I 100% agree with what's being said here, I feel it was a poorly written scene. It sounds like a shower argument.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Yeah it seems there some context missing

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

This is the problem with some of the modern marvel stuff. It's focusing too much on a message. Even if you agree, it's still poor writing.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

#13 is Cap tell the crowd that it's not okay to beat up a Nazi just for saying Nazi things. Cap just stopped a Jew from attacking the 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Nazi. He's just finishing up lambasting the crowd. Immediately after this, he turns around and gives the Nazi a true verbal beatdown. 2/2

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What is really interesting is that even he says a flag is just a piece of cloth and that reminds of how people got angry when people 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

burned that flag and people demanded that it should have been a crime to do that. 2/2

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You seem to like Captain America alot so if I may ask how did you feel about Secret Empire, I thought it was pretty bad, awesome post btw.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't follow it, but I was definitely not a fan of the "twist", especially when it was revealed his mom was actually a Hydra Agent too.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah I did either had a friend he did on principle and he was mighty passed about the whole mom think.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Marvel exs: We will ignore the fact that cap being a member of hydra goes against everything he stands for goes those glorious sales sigh

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

See, I really like this Cap, while the one in the MCU drives me crazy with his moral absolutism. This one just feels better written over all

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

To be fair, MCU Cap is the same Cap in #10. He wasn't that much of an ass in the other movies.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think my problem is that in MCU Civil War, Cap's position is never questioned, never challenged. He's portrayed as being right by default

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I felt like the movie made Tony the rational guy and Cap unreasonably stubborn. Zemo even hints that's what he exploited to tear them apart.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I just feel more pressure should have been put on Cap. Because that movie was very critical of Tony, and doesn't make him look good

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

In the movie Civil War, when Sharon Carter gives the speech at the funeral, it’s a direct call back to the speech cap gives in #10.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

that's because no man can make a positive speech without a woman speaking longer to explain it - or better yet, the woman makes the speech

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Whole shit never realised that

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's characters like Cap and Superman that really set comics above other forms of media to me. And it's horrible what Secret Empire and 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Injustice (& the DCEU) did to their characters respectively. 2/2

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

DCEU Superman is what got me to pick up Superman comics. And after reading them, DCEU Superman is just comic book Supes in the real-world.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I mostly meant BvS Superman and the Joss Whedon fucky Superman. I love Man of Steel, and the good parts of Justice League are fantastic.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

honestly injustice ruined superman for me for a long while.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

To me, Injustice will always be just a bootleg of Kingdom Come that completely failed to get the message and point the story was making.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fundamentally right out of the gate it was too focused on fanwanking over Batman to care about that.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Captain America, what most Americans should strive to be but don’t

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And you do what’s right

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

To be fair, I can think of many people who parrot the words of great people without the tenacity to live by them.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

There a lot of truth to that statement

Yet not too busy to point fingers at guns instead of their users?

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 10

Its illogical to keep the same gun rules and expect different results. So something got to give either mental checks or the guns themselves

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Well by all accounts on the shootings, every kid was mentally disturbed and had access to keys and codes to open gun safes
