That socks. WA and OR have been vote by mail states for a while. Makes it super easy. We all couldn't understand the people losing their minds during covid.

In Virginia pretty much everyone votes on paper and for places that have touch screen voting they just print out a marked paper ballot that is then cast.

Those were the machines that were down. They had a back up booth running while they tried to get the rest of the booths to boot up

I used to work as an election judge and this stuff legit happens all the time. You've got a bunch of volunteers that are older than Congress trying to figure out computer technology. You know how that goes.

Voter suppression as in 'we tampered with machines' or as in 'were systemically underfunding/neglecting voting machines and their support techs', cuz only one can really be proven

sounds like a convenient excuse to shut down a polling place... "Sorry, we don't have our legally mandated minimum number of machines, you'll have to drive two hours to some other city and vote a provisional ballot instead."

Districts should be required to mail a ballot to every registered voter, with return postage prepaid, and ballot drop boxes scattered all around town for those people who don't drop them in the mail in time.

Thing is I think the district was probably above 90% as a whole, so much so that poll workers at this library were directing those who couldn't wait to go to the other locations
