Common sense is common in that is commonly applicable, not that it's ubiquitous. In modern English a better term might be general sense.

To be fair, the "Publish" button that appears after uploading is this huge, green thing that looks like it needs to be pushed. Poor design.

Yeah, but when you push it there's an alert telling you what you're about to do. You still have to click the submit button

Obviously. The problem is, they still think this is something they have to do to host the image. The design team needs to add clarity.
