The orphan dad? crushing machine

1 year ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 0

I hope my son is internet famous enough to afford me a life saving medical procedure. What a time to be alive! I hate it here.

Premium crushed orphans! Freshly crushed orphans! Get them while they're hot!

I always wanted to know how you make money as a meme. Do you have IP? Do people just pay you? I have no idea how this works

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Always love a good story about a kid having to make money for someone not to suffer or die. /s

We have the Hunger Games version of healthcare.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Get enough social media popularity and you might get the resources you need to survive.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That was my first, possibly only, viral post I made on here to help get that funded! I'm very proud to have used imgur to help him with everyone!!

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Cool, but if you're American then you should still be ashamed that your nation requires a child to have a successful fundraiser to determine whether his father gets to survive a treatable medical condition or not.

I mean, not disagreeing, our system sucks.

…I look like Bad Luck Brian. And to add insult to injury: my name is actually Brian.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I got mine for free. Thanks Australian Medicare! And the anonymous donor of course.

Ooohh an australian, please explain this, one of your athletic runners is called …

Call me a socialist if you want, but I want to live in a world where "couldn't afford needed medical treatment" or any possible variation of that no longer gets said.

1 year ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Monkey's Paw curls a finger closed- "Done. Medical treatment is no longer available."

That is not what I meant and you know it. Every other developed country has managed to make universal healthcare work, but the US refuses to try on the basis that it'd be socialism. Can't have our tax dollars going to things we'd benefit from rather than rich people's pockets.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Another finger curls in- "Universal healthcare for everyone. The system is now powered by the Orphan Crushing Machine."

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's exactly what we already had, though?

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

setting aside the orphan crushing machine for a moment, how exactly does a child make money from being a meme? you don't get royalties for that shit. one picture does not give you an ongoing audience to make ad revenue on vids or something. did he do a go-fund-me and it was popular enough because of the meme?

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Because he is in the popular meme, people pay him to come to their events - like Bart in the simpsons, “i didn’t do it”

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

ah. this is one of those things society thinks is normal and reasonable when it is utter bullshit. my autism just doesn't compute those. nevermind. chalk it up to NT nonsense

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I agree, very odd indeed

This was 2015 i think. So it was a decade ago. I mean it still sucks, but it's not exactly breaking news. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-32333474

It’s the fact that we have the same president as back then that’s really weird

I'm sure we'll have another pandemic by the end of 2027, so we'll be able to hit the full nostalgia run

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

News doesn't have to be breaking to be significant.

Imagine living in a country in the 21st century where you have to rely on total chance to be able to fund your medical costs. Insanity.

cant have medical dept if you never go to the doctors ever for any reason.
my life expectancy is low👍

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

This surgery would cost you $38 in Norway, unless you'd already reached your yearly deductible limit for health-related costs ($312 per year as of 2025), in which case it would have been free.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Unfortunately I don't have to imagine, it sucks.

1 year ago | Likes 53 Dislikes 0

i haven't set up needed doc appointments because of the cost. even with insurance it's expensive for someone with 0 monies. and i work full time at $21 hr. wife makes $24 jr full time.
i just make sure we have money for wife and 2 kids do their doc stuff.
anything other than a standard office visit is hundreds of dollars. thx obama

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

HA! Funny you should mention that. I had kidney cancer and I had to get a loan for my surgery otherwise no surgery. When I applied and luckily I got approved, the lady i was talking to on the phone got cheerful and said "oh wow, people never get approved". That will always stick with me. My credit score might have saved my life, a bull shit number.

I fucking detest this country and the right wing influence that is largely responsible for us lagging every developed nation in infant mortality rates, while we claim to be pro life, and while we share the company of North Korea, Iran, and Saudi Arabia having the death penalty. Batshit clusterfuck of a nation.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If you think that is bad. Now imagine that scenario, but whenever you tell someone about it. They all think you're crazy. We have the best healthcare in the world. They say.

1 year ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Our healthcare is pretty top notch if you live in larger metro areas, how it’s paid for is absolutely dog shit

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Imagine living in a country with healthcare that covers you for stuff like this but you still complain about having to pay for parking at the hospital.

Canada. Yes, I do complain about my $6.

1 year ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

Only $6? *cries in starving American*

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

it's not just canada.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I mean.... I'd rather pay $6 for parking and $0 for treatment than $6 for parking and $60,000 for treatment....

1 year ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

The dystopian nightmare that charges you for parking at the hospital is horrible. I'm sick or visiting someone who is sick these things should not have any form of money making involved. I live near a hospital people walk like 3 blocks to avoid the parking fee. Jokes on them there is a large park 1/2 a block away with loads of free parking but the helicopter pad puts the park on a different road.

I’m in Canada temporarily for non-trump related reasons. I have shorter wait times in the er here than I ever did in the US. My last er bill here was less than 700 CAD and that’s no insurance or Medicare, it’d be more in the states WITH insurance (we pay cash and get reimbursed through my US based travelers insurance)

Exactly right.

It's all bullshit they feed their ass-ignorant base.
