When you came, you said to me as follows: "I will give Gimli-Sin (when he comes) fine quality memes." You left then but you did not do what you promised me. You put memes which were not good before my messenger (Sit-Sin) and said: "If you want them take them, take them; if you do not want them go away!" What do you take me for, that you treat somebody like me with such contempt?

Words can not tell the joy I feel that one mans name will echo through history alongside mighty kings and generals only because he was shit at his job and rude to customers, godspeed Ea Nasir!

#1 my boss walks around "it's only a truck" when talking about some scratches his $78k truck got.
"It's only money" when talking about buying 2 seadoos and a trailer
"you can't enjoy life if you aren't spending money" when going on his mexico, Hawaii, and cruise trips....
Sit on a bucket of scalpels you tone deaf prick.
Then looks at me and says "you need a new car man. Just go put a $500 downpayment on an ionic" when he looks at my rusty 2000 Honda accord I bought 8 years ago for $3000...

How do we know that Nasir wasn't a perfectly reputable merchant and he just had a few customers who continually tried their luck? He'd hardly be the first.

Ea-nasir is a 4000 year old meme.

These memes are better than his quality of copper

#1 attractive people say this because they know what comes from only being wanted and valued for your looks.

I always wonder if he actually did it, or if this is the first recorded instance of a Karen.

Had it been just one complaint (the famous one from Nanni) that would been quite possible. However there are many letters from different customers (including Imgur-Sin, Arbituram, Appa, and Ilsu-ellatsu) who were upset not only on quality but that Ea-Nasir had not delivered the promised amounts of ingots, or to the right person, or on time, so it is credible he was whom we know him as; https://www.forbes.com/sites/kristinakillgrove/2018/05/11/meet-the-worst-businessman-of-the-18th-century/

See, I didn't know until recently just how many complaints they found in Ea-nasir's house and I'll be honest, if he wasn't murdered by angry copper buyers I'd be amazed.
cousteau
I thought it was just the one.

He had a room full of them, he collected them for some reason!
cousteau
He knew in advance he would be remembered for one reason or another, so he made sure we did.

That's just the famous one in the British Museum, there were apparently quite a lot of others, quite a few of which came from a man I don't have the pass required to say the name of! https://www.forbes.com/sites/kristinakillgrove/2018/05/11/meet-the-worst-businessman-of-the-18th-century/#c1875012d5de

From the article above:
“And Imgur-Sin exasperatedly writes to Ea-Nasir: ‘May Samas [the sun god] bless your life. Give good copper under seal to Nigga-Nanna. Now you have had me issue 10 shekels of silver. In order that your heart shall not be troubled, give good copper to him. Do you not know how tired I am [of this]?’”
Gonna have to remember this one for the next time the mods get uppity or the potato servers crap out or the next stupid fucking theme day.
ItHappenedInThe20thCentury
I do believe when it's the dude's actual name and you're keeping it in context, it should be ok, no? Like when you quote from an older book or mention the Negro Leagues in baseball.
The dude's name is Nigga-Nanna, btw, for those who don't want to click. I totally get Hutchy01's reticence.
cousteau
Eh, I've had comments taken down for less… but I guess it's OK unless someone actually finds it offensive (which I think shouldn't be the case here)
