100 year old time lapse

Apr 19, 2020 12:39 PM

The hedgerow isn't in the best of condition but having visited here alot of times I'm sure it's accurate, the above thicker/taller bush in the hedgerow is actually an archway. It still exists but its not fully grown yet this season.

All of the photos above are taken over 100 years ago in roughly the same location, its definitely the same lake just maybe a few feet difference.

A local news article caught my eye as a place that's 2 miles from where I live, I spend alot of time here and grew up playing at this lake. The lake In question is Rudyard lake in North Staffordshire.

Rudyard Kiplings parents loved the place so much they names their son after it, he went on to be a great novelist.

Anyway I haven't cropped the past and present photos together as it would take away the ability to zoom but I'm sure they are very close to the same point of being captured.

I'll also link the source to the older photos here https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-36153037?SThisFB&fbclid=IwAR0TigpNAMJ513DniVwyCp3Ss4YRVdVVh-__T3iNW-zq3qPKesjzrSMFQZc

The photos in colour are all taken today, 19 April 2020 during my daily exercise. I don't really have anymore information but I'm sure imgur will enjoy this.
