And I bought this bike, a 91 Honda XRV 750 RD04, Africa Twin. Nicknamed "The African Queen" during it's Paris Dakar days.
It needs more than a little TLC, but it runs fine as is. My plan is to take it completely apart, service it, install new fairings, bigger fuel tank + extra tanks, crashbars, and some bags for luggage. If all goes well this bike will go through most of western europe next year.

Looks like you're going places

Buys a sand bike to go through western Europe. Makes sense.

What @mineovermatter said, also: the point of an adventure bike is to be able to travel the world, including where the road ends.
mineovermatter
They're comfy, good ergos, great torque curve. Sinless exhausting to ride than some others
Fiss
Very nice choice, just make sure you give yourself plenty of time to ride her on shorter trips before jumping cross-country. Ride safe!
KingOfWholesomeHedonism
Yeah I plan on cramming as many hours as I can onto her this year =)

Rad, spam lots of pics on here or on /r/bikesgonewild, I'd love to see them!
Zetor
Nice little bike. I don't understand why I don't see more of these. I my country it's either choppers or rockets.

Dual sports are not super popular anywhere. Most people that want to off-road just get a dirt bike because it's lighter and much cheaper.

Adventure Bikes are fast growing, although most people never ride them offroad. BMW GS is the most sold bike in the world for several years.

And a new Africa Twin is like $13000usd

Upgrade the seat. After 500 miles you will understand.
KingOfWholesomeHedonism
It's on my to-do list, found a guy locally who can mod my current seat with gel. Also found a company in France that sells comfort seats.
mineovermatter
Gel sucks on MC.
Fiss
You can also do an Airhawk or similar padded seat topper, but I agree with Skybejef, best to get the seat itself upgraded.
