The Stinger 609

Naturally aspirated it makes 5.5hp, with the optional blower, it makes 9.5hp!

The damn thing even has a starter...a real starter....

And listen to it! It even SOUNDS like a real V8...that is absolutely amazing. I figured some of my fellow Imgurians would like something like this; an incredible intersection of technology, engineering, and utter uselessness. Gotta hear it - link below:

Well, the 15 HP Briggs and Stratton on my go-cart cost way less and still sounded cool...

I'm embarrassed that I loaded the gif so I could hear how it sounds before I realized my mistake.

Ultimate power/weight ratio car ever?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Doubt it. Koenigsegg is 2.2lbs/1hp. No way this thing isn't at least 40lbs.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

11.25lbs. So yes way ;-)

Can someone post purchase and YouTube test sauce so we don't have to deal with that wierd ass site?

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Here you go. Volume warning tho, so power your audio a bit. https://youtu.be/t-XHWbxBMMU

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Granted the site is weird...but that happens when you're looking for engine model kits bc you have an infant & can't play outside anymore.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I genuinely dont understand people who don't think things like this are RAD.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's pretty nice with the starter included

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah my ride might be a little small, but it's all engine.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The starter is about the least impressive thing about it. It has a dry sump oiling system, alternator, and carburetor.

Givernment mandated smog checks coming for micro engines, you will need a bigger tailpipe buddy, state regulations!

10/10 would build a few dozen model cars and host a mini Monster Jam

That’s even louder than I would have imagined. Holy shit. Good thing they live on a farm lol.

Yes! Grave Digger is my favorite!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This better fucking make FP

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Grave Digger gets +1

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It’s cool and all but that mini gas v8 doesn’t have anything on the electric motors

It's useless until Stuart Little needs a monster truck.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wow. They finally did it! Put a micro engine on an RC! That’s so cool

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Very cool, but for nearly $11,000 I could buy 911 Carrera 997 engine to tinker with in my garage.

How about a riding mower?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hm

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

for 11,000 you could build a 489 and get 600 to 700 hp.....

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

http://www.moparproshop.com/small_block_magnum_crate_engines You could get some Mopar small blocks for less as well.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You could get a 2JZ or RB26 for a lot less than that

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

i'm honestly fascinated by people's obsession with the 2JZ and RB series. Why?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Power. Its easy to double the power of those engines while maintaining most of the reliability. Of course, that changes when you hit 1000 hp

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah but then all your buddies make fun of you for having a Porsche..

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 13

Not if you turn that Porsche into a kickass dune buggy.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Or you can build a turbo lsx for half the price and kill yourself twice as quickly!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I mean, yeah, but try holding it in your hands. So there.

8 years ago | Likes 106 Dislikes 6

Is it really that fast? For that price you could get lighter parts w/a 3.3.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I, too, love burning my skin off.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Maybe he is absurdly strong you don't know his life.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I could definitely hold my 1.6l dune buggy engine in my hands.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

So... You're into smaller?
