Apparently Imgur first lists all folders that start with a capital letter, then it lists the folders that aren't capitalized.

You can't even go past a certain letter on their desktop site's carousel if you have more than some imagined number they placed in their code for it. Whenever I get on desktop, my favorites stop at the letter "R", so I can't use the desktop tools to sort things in any of those folders from "S" onward.
So yeah, there are some weird decisions at play in the choices for their UI/UX.

I've noticed that, too. I think that folder list is in reverse chronological order.
