Such a nice urban terrorist.
cAPTNcAPSLOCK
And by anarcho-doing it he can actually do it. If he were to approach said businesses and offer to redo their ads for free, the would immediately become entitled and nitpick about every single bit of the ad often completely sabotaging the effort.

Anarchic assistance. This will confuse a few business owners, but it's for the good.
cbale2000
There's a sign I drive by every day that reads "Credit Repair *Phone#*" which, by itself wouldn't be a big deal, except it's a plastic yard sign and the text is written using literal mailbox lettering stickers.
Like, bro, why should I expect you to repair MY credit, when you can't even spend the $30 to have a professional-looking sign made.
SkidMarc25
You think they got good credit by spending money on silly little things like signs?
HollerinAtTheVoid
As someone who does this kind of marketing to make a living, I appreciate his effort. Dude is legit. I just can't help but have flashbacks of convos like "we don't need that, it won't make a difference" and "no, your work had nothing to do with it, our business just happened to naturally grow 200% in a month despite no growth for the past 10 years"
NicoleArcherWrites
Very cool. The reality is that if he’d been paid, they still would have requested their terrible stuff. That’s why I stopped helping small businesses. But if you do it stealth-like, they’ll be like okay, thanks.
smashfaceawesome

Can he fix the sign that this girl’s been giving me? Just so i could be sure she actually likes me and is not just being friendly.
Aksuuuh
"man she really upped her sign game, it's gotta be sarcastic."

I am not catholic anymore... But I am quite sure this guy is somekind of saint.

*Alot* can be done by just people caring enough to apply their skills and abilities to doing it... the only issue that the easieast way to make people care is to give them money for it, and... well. *Gestures vaguely* And then there's people like this dude! :D
FoxAffair
Saw something similar where a guy was making nicer signs for the homeless, but it backfired. Turns out beggars with nice signs get fewer handouts.
Affilahi
stonecoldstevebuschemi
Is this from "How to with John Wilson"? It kinda sounds like his voice and it's also seems like something he would do on the show.
ASquirrelNamedLloyd
I loooooove it. I often look at designs and edit them in my mind. I know they take effort, so I don’t act upon it. This is so sweet.
Muhfynmann2
I do this with my laser engraver and engrave-able items! Many businesses don’t consider how poorly their logos translate to other media like cups and shirts when designing them. Many are too busy or cluttered.
SkidMarc25
Or they lost the original file and only have a crusty JPEG that's been uploaded and downloaded from Facebook 5 times already. Ain't no way that's going on nicely without some heavy lifting from the designer.
Muhfynmann2
Or they just took a picture of something with their phone, off center, with shadows.
Mreman71
Why blur the number??
DerpMeister
I think it's really considerate since he didn't ask the owner if they are okay with being inlcuded in a video that is shared on social media.
ThatWeirdoOverYonder
So he's not inundated with calls from random internet people who are outside his area of operation.
Mreman71
Geez. I didn't think we'd be a bunch of trolls.
Saxytimes
I really wish we had more places meant for posting fliers. There are so many small businesses on a budget (like me!) who would love something like this. Like in downtown areas.
SkidMarc25
A Public forum board in a central location is a good idea on paper, but when People are added to the recipe it turns sour real quick. Offering tattoos or piercings as a retired Tat artist? Christian Soccer Mom makes it her mission to tear down your post daily. Selling something? Look at the mess Facebook Marketplace is. Didn't give a rude "influencer" wannabe free stuff? Daily hate posts are going up. Want to monitor the board? Gotta pay someone, where's that money coming from? etc.
Saxytimes

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. This is definitely beautiful.

Yea but imgur is also a place where they point out that he's recording himself doing it and bragging about it "for clout" or how ever you use that phrase. I see the good in this too, but it's not for free. He's benefiting too from their lack of sign skills.
vejjie06
I want these people to make money for what they’re doing. Posting it online doesn’t make the action any less valuable to the businesses that received the help.
ElbowDeepInAHeadlessHorseman
Meh. There's no way anyone would know unless that handyman suddenly generates enough PC skills to take some photos and come post online about what someone did about it etc etc. I'm fine to give this kind of thing a thumbs up. It's not someone filming themself giving a sammich to a homeless person etc.
electrajet
The whole “Here’s somebody being nice/doing something good, let’s shit on them as much as possible” thing is toxic and harmful. There are so many examples of people being assholes, it doesn’t hurt anyone to see examples of people doing good.
whiskinputwarbles
I'll fight anyone who tries to nitpick this dude.
Idontneedrealfacts
he puts the handyman's number on it, thats a big poster that is likely illegal to post on those lamps.
newsguycraigevans
I don't care for his font choices.
RulesOfImgur
Okay!
this dude should get permission to do this beforehand. If he does he does not convey it we'll in the video and he should.
TussleTheCat
If your comment is sincere and not just a jab at the original comment, then may I ask why you think so?
To me, it seems harmless and gives free marketing to folks. Marketing can be extremely expensive for the self-employed and small businesses. Just seems like a kind thing that may end up being helpful. The signs can also just be thrown away, no harm no foul.
RulesOfImgur
Seems harmless, yes but it's just good practice to get permission to do so and make it clear what your intentions with it are. Some people may not like them not only making this new ad but having them post about them remaking this ad. 5his kerson is popular and is posting to the internet enough information to find these small business and we all know what the internet has the capability of.
UncleVenoM
Okay, what if the random dude he's helping is a Nazi?
thotterpop
He's taking jobs away from graphic designers!!! ...Even though these people/companies he's doing it for would have never bothered with a graphic designer
Silved
Now let's hope that handy man William isn't a vampire and this was his ploy to get invited in.
DarkRedCape
Listen, William may be a vampire, but he still chooses to earn an honest living, let him have his guilty pleasures!
Strategicgnomer
But then how's he supposed to have anit free luscious head of hair? Don't make the poor man live with a head full of nits!
FartingWiener
I don't care who fights me, I would pick his nits.
Strategicgnomer
Now there's a man worth at least two dice!
OverthinkingThis
Not a nitpick, but an observation that this dude needs to be super careful about what he picks. If there are temporary deals/discounts or a small business has made changes (or even went under) he could be creating quite the headache for others. Naturally I am sure he is doing that and massive props to him. But if anyone was thinking of doing similar, be conscientious of who you're trying to help

Vonph
Not a nit-pick, but a question. And I may be making this up, it might be something I saw on a TV drama which is bs pseudoscience for plot purposes; aren't tear-off flyers more successful when one or two have already been taken, than a completely fresh flyer?
ByThePowerOfSCIENCE
maybe it just draws attention to the tearable tags
W0lfsbl00d
That's a common thing, if people see others are partaking, have partaken, or enjoyed, people are more likely to join.

We are all just followers in search of a leader.
thepriceisrightbitchez
I never take flyers, I take a pic with my phone.
ImaginaryMamboNumber5
QR codes are the way forward round here. Then it's on your phone and ou don't necessarily have to call someone
NewUsernameWhoDis
Plus free malware.
Vonph
I don't trust QR codes, they could lead you to any nefarious site.
Akurei00
No different than typing the site into your browser. Every QR reader I've ever used has told me the URL on scanning, then I have to intentionally follow it.
itsallaboutthecones
You can typically preview the URL before navigating. But you obviously aren't wrong.
vegivamp
And that URL is going to be a domain you never heard of, so it helps you nothing at all.
Is handymanrandy.com real, or just a domain registered by a scammer to get you to a malware site?
