I see this and wonder how anyone could hate dogs.

real dogs wear two collars

That's a better babysitting job than a lot of teenagers would do.

Well, that's fucking adorable.

I wish my dog did this! She has now started licking my son and enjoying him for a few moments. Better than the unadulterated terror before.

Dogs instinctively bury their food and use a blanket when there's no dirt available.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Guys he's trying to bury it to save him for later!

11 years ago | Likes 131 Dislikes 3

Saving him by keeping hum warm, for later on so the kid will be around to play with him in a few years.

Is this like that fish thing where he was trying to throw water onto the fish to bury it?

That dear sweet lab is trying to bury that new addition to the family and make it go very away.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

romulus and remus were raised by wolves, and built rome. bobby was raised by rex, and dug a hole under the porch.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fine, I'll be the killjoy. Babies should not sleep on or near blankets. They can easily suffocate.

11 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 5

But... someone is obviously watching the baby. I assume they aren't planning on letting the baby suffocate in front of them.

11 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

For sure. Not a risk I'm willing to take though. But to each their own.

and gif was actually reverted

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Logically, that's probably what was happening...

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I've actually seen quite a few videos of dogs doing this. Even one where the owner uncovers the baby and the dog keeps recovering it. ♡

by his snout at the end that is a distinct possibility

I thought I was until my sisters dog pooped in the kennel and tried chasing cars. I take my chill cat any day.

Training a dog is always helpful.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well he's 8weeks and she just got him yesterday lol

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Dogs are awesome. A cat would walk to the corner of the room and look pissed and wait for everyone else to leave the room.

11 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I think dogs should of made you a dog person

we're all OP's mom person, right?

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Dogs would have no chance if saber tooth kitties still existed, I hope you know that you have made the wrong decision in my opinion.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

Uhm. But you wouldn't have it as a pet anyways so that doesn't even matter.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

saber tooth kitty would bee in a world of hurt against a pack of dire wolves...

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

1 saber kitty vs 1 dog = adorable at first, not so much afterwards. An equal amount of large cats vs large dogs, cats would win (I say)

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

mmmmmmm, i dunno dire wolf was pretty friggin terrifying. you might be right tho. I just wonder what it would be like if they still 1/2

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

existed, I wonder if we could have domesticated them. its a wolf that makes a normal wolf look like a beagle.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

a cat would be pulling the blanket off like an asshole.

11 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Cat would be sitting on baby's head.

11 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Not sure that it's good for the baby to sleep like that.

11 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 6

Yep sleeping facedown with soft objects surrounding is thought to be the cause of SIDS.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The only threat a baby has by sleeping on his tummy is that his face is much more prone to being against things that can suffocate him. -

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

So just that then. Suffocation and death. Hardly anything really.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Give him a firm mattress with strong fresh airflow and no toys/pillows/blankets and hes FINE.

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

https://www.nichd.nih.gov/sts/about/Pages/faq.aspx suffocation is the worst, but not only, risk for stomach sleeping.

My dog buries her bones and toys this way....so I'm guessing the dog wants to bury the baby alive.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

One of our cats is aggressive with just about everyone except my 18 month old niece.

Cats like mine make me want to trade in my cat.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Maybe a rescue a dog? Sometimes rescue centres can tell you if a dog gets on well with cats or not, saves chancing it with a puppy :)

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I was thinking, when the time comes, that I would check a rescue shelter first.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

if you can really take on another pet :)

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

:))

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's so great to hear :) Fostering is nice too, keeps dogs (or cats) out of shelter while they find a permanent home and you get to see

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

:)

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oops, accidentally a word.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

What word is missing...?

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I meant to say "maybe get a rescue dog", I missed the "get"

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh, okay. You just replied to the wrong comment so I got confused. I thought you said Deeken forgot a word, haha.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I replied to them twice so they would see it since they probably wouldn't think to check my replies to myself :)

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My dog does that to hide food and toys. Puppy is hiding a toy, not trying to keep baby warm, sorry

11 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 19

You don't know that! Maybe he's hiding food. =)

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Haha yes, my terrier loves to hide her treasures with her nose like that!

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yep, this is the exact motion my dog goes through when she is burying something in the dirt

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Food, toy, or a baby, the kid is very important to the dog and the dog is protecting it by instinct

11 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 1

Stop ruining the magic!

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Aren't you a Debbie downer!

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

I still think it's adorable, he thinks the baby is a toy! The dog thinks the baby is awesome, otherwise he wouldn't try to hide it

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

True, but if the baby was outside, the dog would be covering it in dirt...

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well, I guess, don't leave your baby in the dirt with a dog?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Jusy saying it's slightly less cute when you realize the dog is trying to bury the baby

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The reason doesn't matter. No wonder it's lost on you.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 5

Um, it's not lost on me, I appreciate the cuteness of it

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I see. Then why say "sorry" if you didn't feel you were disabusing us of some preconceived idea about what is happening?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I see. Then why say "sorry" if you didn't feel you were disabusing us of some preconceived idea about what is happening?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Because I was potentially ruining it for others... Not myself
