Why is Joseph Joester giving the Flash advice?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Because he's experienced.

I saw the movie. "Justice League Dark: Apokolips War". Constantine, Swamp Thing and Jonah Hex are 3 of my favorite DC characters.

James Woods is a right cunt but dammit if he isn't a great actor.

2 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 1

He really does represent every MCU and DCU fan, once multiverses become the norm in the story arc.

The moment Owlman became one of my favorite DC villians.

Me, to me. After we crush hella Corona then drop twenty bucks on the TouchTunes at Applebee's to play Creed’s My Sacrifice a dozen times in a row, then blowing up the ADA toilet stall so hard Ted Kaczynski would be envious.

Jesus, mate. Did he also had the Epstein's flight list?

Bruh, they just shot him. No hesitation. Right in front of everyone.

This gorilla had EVERYTHING from JFK to Donald's stolen classified documents.

is Constantine talking about Harambe, or Grodd?

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

Yes.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Harambe. But maybe in the DC universe it was Grodd.

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I didn't care for this movie. Was not as good as most of the DC Animated films.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Agree, I get what they were going for, but it felt rushed and wasn't a great send off for 90% of the characters.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

This movie was straight up uncomfortable to watch.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I honestly don’t know who it was for. I get that they had to end the universe but who wants to see Aquaman get bisected and Batgirl get torn apart screaming

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Yea I'm not really a fan of gore, and I didn't go into it expecting that to be it's selling point given the relatively low level of violence in the 10+ movies leading up to it

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I watched it right after marathoning season 2 of Invincible, so what little gore is in it didn't even register :D

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The gore is why I haven't watched invincible at all. I could tolerate it if I tried, but at that point I wouldn't be able to enjoy the show anyway

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

So I avoided it back in the day when the comic first came out, because everyone just talked about how gory it was, and it seemed like it was just going for shock factor, so I assumed it was immature. Even after the show came out I didn't watch it for a long time, but then I did and I feel dumb. It's a surprisingly good deconstruction of the superhero genre into psychological horror. I don't generally *like* horror, and I don't like The Boys at all, but Invincible is good.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Both Invincible and The Boys are attempts at a gritty deconstruction of the genre, but The Boys premise is "What if the only people who got superpowers were complete monsters?", which makes the show frankly boring. The violence is there for laughs and shock value. Invincible has moments of shock but a lot of the characters are actually mostly good people. Human people, but people really trying. And the resulting violence becomes *actually* horrifying because you as the viewer *care*.

Nothing says "Ah shit we have to go to Constantine for help" like the story ending with the only solution being to literally restart reality. Rule of thumb if you are ever in the DCU and find your only option for help is John Constantine just know you're fucked even if things go well.

His whole speech is basically "Listen, we fucked this one up. We lost a 3rd of Earth's magma, Wonder Woman's a robot, a lot of people are dead and everyone left is mentally traumatized. We can't do much worse than this."

2 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Batman also said that he estimates at least another billion deaths before they can even get the situation under control.

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Constantine allowed this to be possible in the first place. The nature of who he is was always Plan B.

2 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

My favorite gag in AW: John sees HarleyQuinn talking to king Shark and says " oh crap, my ex" trying to hide his face. Raven notes "You and harley? Gross." Constantine replies "Do I look mad?"

2 years ago | Likes 64 Dislikes 0

The fact that King Shark smiles...that means that KS is probably one of a tiny few of Constantine's exes that DOESN'T hate him.

2 years ago | Likes 63 Dislikes 0

Constantine is the Gambit of DC. Male, female, interdimensional horror beyond comprehension? The more of a bad idea it is the more attractive the potential lover.

2 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 0

but he still only has eyes for one girl.

Zatanna?

yes.

The entire D.C.A.M.U. was worth watching for this scene alone. Fuckin' love The Flash. Hope the Tomorrow-verse is just as good.

2 years ago | Likes 83 Dislikes 1

Tomorrow-verse is hit or miss. Man of Tomorrow and Justice Society movie were great but pretty much everything since then has been either terrible or mid. The Crisis movies have been okay so far though

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The best parts of Crisis Pt.1 were the Flash parts imo. Haven’t watched the second movie yet

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That bums me out a bit. The DCAMU films certainly weren't perfect, but I did love the continuity.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

DC's strength has always been its animated universes. Which one is this and where do you recommend we start?

2 years ago | Likes 53 Dislikes 0

Looks like Justice League Dark: Apokolips War

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

This moment if from Justice League Dark: Apokolips War. It's the very end of the Flashpoint series of movies. If you wanna know what the Flashpoint is, you can start with Justice League: Flashpoint Paradox. But it's only at the end of the movie. It's a pretty decent movie with good animation, but if you don't wanna watch it just for the ending, you could read a synopsis and then start with Justice League: War.

2 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 1

Don't know too much about DC but Flashpoint is some amazing stuff

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Ignore the other comment. Absolutely watch 'Flashpoint'. It's the best movie of the entire bunch. Watch order can just be release order: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/DC_Animated_Movie_Universe. Stick 'Constantine: House Of Mystery' at the very end. The D.C.A.M.U. is its own continuity outside of everything else, so it will feel complete.

Note made, thanks

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I wanna add, becuase it's not on that list, that Justice League: Gods and Monsters was a banger

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's because it's an Elseworlds film, if memory serves correct. Still need to see it.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

? Tomorrowverse is now over as well. It ended last week with Crisis part 2.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Where's the confusion? I haven't seen it yet.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

"Hope the tomorrowverse is just as good", implies that it is yet to be released but it's been out for a very long time. Technically there's one movie left with crisis part 3.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No, it doesn't. That's just how you misread it, lol. How can one know something is good without having seen it? :P

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Are you considering Crisis part 3 from their next line of films? Cause that's still coming later this year.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yeah, the comment confused me as we've known it to be a trilogy for a while now. I think the whole thing was originally supposed to be ten movies, but they cut it down to nine.
