Soon to be illegal in Kalifornia.
lenomdeplume
Nice. Walnut stock. Some of my late uncles used them in 1944 at Normandy.

I HAVE ONE OF THESE!! It's so beautiful and amazing.

How much money did you waste on cod points to get that?
anonwhymouse
someone should post the MLP garand
guntbagmunkball
Very nice!

I take it you're a bit on the fence about it?
Matthew0275
What a grand weapon
sURFNmADNESS
Caution, firing this gun is about the loudest rifle you can shoot.
ALLISEEARESNAILS
It's actually very quiet for it's caliber. My friends .308 AR10 is much louder than my Garand.
Negative. There are much louder rifles.
IAmTheKillingHand
My dad owns one. It's a lot of fun to shoot. Heavy, but that's okay because it's fucking awesome.
BattleMercy
Helps keep recoil down, making it a steadier weapon in the hands of a nervous soldier
ckviper
Can confirm: this. Far less recoil than a Mosin Nagant and the Kar 98k. All of them are accurate and fun to shoot.
zhukoz
That's a gas-piston compared to a bolt action for you (if you're fortunate enough to live in a country which hasn't banned semi autos)
0.0 What country has banned semi autos?! You should move to a gun-loving country!
Australia, in 1996. At least loingarms. We can still have handguns...for now lol
SuperJedi
Also, club.
Forgot to mention, it's a November 1942 receiver with a 1953 LMR Barrel.
BecauseIDontHaveAWittyUsernameYoureSittingThereReadingThis
I remember them being much longer.\
Mine is a 45 receiver with original barrel. It can still hit a clay pigeon at 200 yards with ease. This rifle is a must own for any American

Truly, this is a Garand post!

Jealous, best I found was late 43 :(
lGneousMlracIe
How well can it double dip? Pretty well I'm guessing?
jiynxed
so it's a slutty rifle.
BeerIsBetterThanSunshine
Is that a new stock or did you get insanely lucky?
Being as that the entire lower end of the gun is one solid piece, and the colors match, I'd say it either got refinished entirely, or he got
Insanely lucky
Can't recall, but the m1 garand was a .303, right?
ChuckNorrisAteMySock
30-06. If I remember correctly, though, there were probably a few made in 303 and sent to the UK as part of the lend-lease program.
ResidentMormon
30-06. .303 was only used by the 1903 Springfield until 1906 with the 30-06 was developed for the 1903. 303 1903 springfields are ultra rare
turimbar
A buddy of mine inherited one of these and didn't take care of it. Slapped a shitty composite stock on it after he trashed the original.
Selerox
I'm not a gun person (UK), but if I inherited something like that, I would make *damn* fucking sure it was in perfect condition.
We're no longer on speaking terms.
I was gunna say....

Seriously! Made a grimace when I saw that.
It'd disturbingly happy. Like. "You're outta ammo fucko!"
Ssssssssssss
Too bad it tells the other guy that too. Beautiful gun. Wish I had the money to get one, but I have the bayonet for it.
Iamnotverygoodonthespot
They realized enemies figured that out and started keeping empty ones around and using them to male the noise so the enemy would pop back up
PING! It's a glorious sound.
It's a beautiful "stereo" ringing sound
BloodyCrowOfCainhurst
Watch your thumbs haha
cklepper
First time I fired one I got my thumb stuck in the action reloading it. Hurt like a mother fucker.
Some dude on here did on purpose just to show people.
ABonkeysManana
Yep, tells you just when the soldier using it is vulnerable to attack.
skilshaw
I remember reading somewhere that soldiers used to tap the clips on a metal surface to mimic the sound, so they could take the shot on (1/2)
The enemy who popped up to fire at them. (2/2)
