Cheers to pets!

This is The Kurgan.

This is his namesake.

He is very handsome.

And generally a pretty chill guy.

We like to watch the birds and cuddle.

Sometimes the catnip comes out!

And he gets pretty silly.

Sometimes he’s even a bad cat!

Most of the time he’s a snuggle monster.

He is a savanna cat. But he was a discount kitten. They said he was aloof, and unfriendly.

We worked with him multiple times every day. Only positive reinforcement. It sure helped he loves cookies!

We did a lot of desensitization work for husbandry, like nail trims and handling.

It didn’t take much, or all that long.

He is the sweetest cat I’ve every known. And I’ve know a lot of cats. We’ve had at least two my entire life. There is not a mean bone in this boys body.

Though he’s not such a young man anymore. He turned eight this year. The vet did his first geriatric panel, even that word scares me.

Thankfully he couldn’t be healthier! Though he should lose ~ 1 lb, according to the vet.

It may be winter, but he has what I like to call “cat tv”, with five bird feeders and a heated bath for him to watch. All in a nice sunny window.
