What happens to the human body during an implosion? A lot and very very quick. This is 20 MILLISECONDS and 400 atmospheres of pressure. Like having 50 pounds of TNT on your lap.

You stop being biology, and you become physics - Scott Manley.

You stop being a coherent mass of human tissue faster than you can blink your eyes. Faster than the time it takes the retina to even SEND a single pulse of information to the back of the brain, 25 milliseconds. The deep ocean is not an environment for taking shortcuts.

You get squished so fast you explode due to the diesel effect.

50 pounds ≈ 23 kilograms or 3.6 stone

That's mystifying.

Didn’t they say after they found the remains of the sub that they found ‘human remains’ too? Wtf remains were left behind of the people of this is what happened?

We probably won't know what they found if they were remains. Even bone would shatter like glass.

I think broth was the word I used in an earlier post...

The main takeaway I had from this whole fiasco is that the obscenely rich erroneously think their harmfully arrogated concentration of wealth makes them exempt from the laws of physics like it does the laws of society. The kid in the group hadn't drank that kool-aid yet, and could see that shoddy jalopy deathtrap submersible for what it was.

The performance of the rich in sports cars and small planes repeatedly supports that assertion. No, rich dudes, you don't always make the turn because you're rich. Sometimes friction coefficients don't agree.

I would just be glad that my death was quick and painless, I don't want to suffer.

Tom Hanks has a history of playing doomed pilots: Sully, Lovell, etc. Gotta pick him for pilot, if ever a movie

Doomed, but ultimately survived...

And were decent people. The sub operator who was also the company head sounds like he was not a decent person.

Why is fire coming out of the body? Is that normal?

Compression of the air so rapidly it heats up to literal thousands of degrees

I'm mostly sure that line came from XKCD: https://what-if.xkcd.com/141/

When you listen to the navy audio recording there was a loud "CRACK" then the implosion sound. Meaning they had enough time to think "oh sh*t we are de.." And then the void took them

Scott Manley, the guy quoted in the description, is an amazing science YouTuber and rocket enthusiast. Worth checking out.

If your goal is to off yourself, its the most painless, 100% sure way to get it done i guess.

Not the most pleasant way to go, but it damn well sure is a fast one.

Probably the second best result of the whole thing to being rescued. No starvation/dehydration/asphyxiation/pressure-to-violence among the stranded. Just *CHOOMF* and it's done.

Non-sarcastic empathy? Here on Imgur? +1 for this unicorn.

To me: Fast = pleasant. This looks like a fantastic way to die.

The only thing is in the minutes before where you know you are trapped and going to die, those must be awful
