Bigot angry about cookies gets roasted

In case you don't know who this guy is, I'll save you some time. Rod Dreher is an American conservative writer/editor living abroad in Hungary.

We do need to remember that corporations are never altruistic, and they only ever act in their best interest. Right now, pro-LGBT+ views are popular enough that corporations have decided that appearing to support them is good for business.

And they're all morons for thinking corporations have any interest in social and political issues, not purely profit....

Imagine being mad about rainbow cookies but not about the crimes in the epstein files

On the Snowy Enrobed ones, they just need to make eye holes!

Conservatives are such massive hypocrites. They politicise everything. Anything that appears to include or celebrate those they’re threatened by, they tear it down. If Oreo were cynically profiteering from white Christian nationalists, this asshole would be lauding it.

racist oreos! i miss simpler times when 2 thick black oreos were making a hot thick sandwich of a creamy white center, especially them double stuffs. one in the front, one in the back. just thick whiteness in the middle getting sandwiched.

I wonder who this moron thinks is in charge in the US. It’s not the people who respect the lives and rights of LGBTQIA people. It’s ridiculous to me that conservatives can pretend those they’re intolerant to are always in power even when they’re clearly not. Conservatives are so good at self-deception. Morons.

It's a deliberate gaslighting tactic known as DARVO, wherein the bad guys try flipping the narrative so that their victims are the villain and the bad guys are the victim. The goal is to confuse and distract their opponents so that they're so busy arguing against nonsense that they don't have the time or energy to hold the bad guys accountable or take more effective action to stop them.

If that guy thinks KIt Kat are straight, he should see the club they run in Berlin.

THE FUCK DID YOU JUST SAY???

I didnt realize they were eliminating every one of tge 50 versions of oreos just to make rainbow ones. How will he ever recover?!

I initially read Dreher's post as supportive, like: "yeah, look at how crazy it's getting, even the corporations are now starting to resist". I mean... is he suggesting that the totalitarianism is coming from the LGBT+? Or is he admitting that the fash is bad, but still saying that rainbow cookies are worse?

those white chocolate coated oreos are sooo good!

The dude's message isn't even consistent. In a totalitarian society, megacorps are facilitating revolution via cookie?

5 months ago | Likes 56 Dislikes 1

Unless he's pro rainbow cookie and LGBT, then it's like "yeah everything can resist the totalitarian regime, even oreos!". I don't think it's his intention but it's funny it fits better.

Conservative rhetoric really is so idiotic

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Honestly, at first I thought he was trying to say "when you live in a totalitarian society, you must make sure everything you do is for revolution. Don't do anything just for the sake of that thing." Like, I thought it was a call to protest.

To this scumsucker, totalitarian means ‘minorities existing in ways that I am not capable of ignoring.

There's no real underlying political/ideological framework, he's just rationalising a kneejerk emotional response by stringing scary bad words together.

5 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

there’s definitely an ideology: the ideology is that gay people are bad, supporting gay people is bad, and expressions of support for gay people are oppressing him. Same ideology as all rightwing toxic morons.

Something being lgbt friendly is politicized? YOU and your transphobic homophobic idiot bunch made it political. STFU Rod!

5 months ago | Likes 120 Dislikes 2

And to be clear, it’s not political: Oreo doesn’t give a shit about us either way, they’ve just done the math and appealing to not bigots is more profitable than appealing to bigots.

The market is deciding so shut your broke asses up.

Rainbow Capitalism. It's a nakedly obvious ploy to cash in... But I'd rather have a SUPPORTIVE cash-in than catering to the bigots.

5 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Yes, exactly. I don't care WHY a corporation is supporting LGBT rights, I care that it's happening. Normalizing support for LGBT rights is something we should all be getting behind. Stop punishing companies for actually doing the right thing for once.
