Reminds me of that tweet about the folks telling a farmer yhat one of his animals has its head caught in the fence and the farmers like "Oh, that's just Betty. She can get out any time she wants to, she just likes the attention"

I regretted unmuting. I don't like hearing kittens in distress, even if it's perceived distress.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well this just woke up all the cats sleeping on my desk.

2 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 1

Same. All 6 cats all startled awake. They are all now crowding me trying to locate the kitten thats in distress. I have a good group of babies. I'm proud i managed to create a social group out of rescues.

I found this post a second time and once again Spatula, WAP and Spork are looking at this one monitor like I have committed terrible crimes against cats.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Just make sure they know that they are next if they step outta line.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If you named your cat WAP, you *have* committed a terrible crime.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

She deserved it. She kept jumping in the toilet because she couldn't figure out when the cover was down. She was gonna be Spoon but no, she's WAP.

This kitten was forced into that position. Terrible people setting up animals in bad positions for fake internet points.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

TBF, kittens are kinda stupid and do that to themselves a lot, too. It can take them awhile to understand that they can't go forward because head don't fit, but they'll tell everyone in earshot about it anyway.

Needs the skills.

Had a kitten get his big fat head stuck in the cage from doing that once.

Awwww. I wonder if the baby was having a nightmare because it got "stuck." The little floof got startled when mom touched them.

Moreso when you're just a baby

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I have tried explaining that to multiple elementary school children who roll their eyes at me when I ask them to perform any task. They literally roll their eyes at me and act like I asked the world of them, when all I’m trying to do is get them to practice the skills they need to survive in this world. Unfortunately, I have had to resort to explaining in graphic detail how in the USA they have little to no chance of surviving without basic reading and math skills, so they should be grateful 1/2

To have the privilege of going to school, rather than be forced to go to their parent’ jobs to work in janitorial service, or at the cash register for their parents’ restaurant jobs, or go out in the fields and work at farming like so many of their peers around the world, including in America. This helped them gain perspective and realize that they needed to learn what I was trying to teach them. Reality sucks, but welcome to it. You’re 8-12 year olds, not 2-3 year olds; stop acting like it. 2/2

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 22

8-12 is when you should be learning about actual reality

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

2 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

One's own ability, or lack thereof, has literally nothing to do with one's ability to survive in the USA. You either obey or you starve. And if you obey, you will still starve. And if you somehow don't starve, you will inevitably be treated as though you did not obey, and starve anyway. Welcome to capitalism...

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Idk why the downvotes. Sure kids should be allowed to be kids but letting them kid their way out of being responsible people is no good. A dose of reality is important and makes them appreciate life more

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 4

It's the classicism. Notice how they used janitorial, restauration, agricultural jobs to scare the children.
