First light test of the USS Roanoke shuttle bay. This is a 1/350 scale ship of my own design that I made in Plasticity and have printed in resin.
Nothing is glued yet. There is a maintenance room behind the open door at the back that will also be lit. And I’m going to add a figure to the observation deck.

It's only a model

That is insanely awesome. Well done!

Kyzyl
That's pretty neat.

Sweet!

@OP Please post a completed build when you finish

My friend wants to know if it also vibrates.
writerguy995
It does not! I hope!
TanithRosenbaum
I'm curious what a heavy test will include? An atual shuttle?
RedTwoX
Ooooooooooo... that's pretty swanky. "Nice work" is a considerable understatement. I have to admit my inclination would be to dirty/grease it up a bit, but that would be too "Star Wars" for a Trek vessel. Gotta keep that federation spit-and-polish.
writerguy995
Yeah, this is supposed to be a new ship. There is some grime along the edges of the floor but the lights drown it out.

Im tech savvy and into modeling but low voltage electronics like led controllers have always mystified me, but would love to get into it
writerguy995
I vibe coded the Arduino code with Gemini.

Custom modeling has always been crazy impressive to me, but i wasnt great at even regular model kits, especially paint and decals, so i went back to LEGO lol. But just finishing an ENT rewatch then starting S01 and S02 of DIS then SNW/TOS/TAS/movies... so still a long road before TNG again and i can crack this baby open!
cosonfused
hold up, they made a shuttle pod too?
cyno01
It was the limited gift with purchase for the D, comes w/ Ro Laren fig. https://brickset.com/sets/subtheme-Star-Trek

Navy (there have been several), Star Trek, Starfield or Starship Troopers? Yeah, it's a commonly used name.
kaneinencanto
Missed The Orville, the best of the recent Trek shows... and I say that as a Trekkie, too.
YpsilantiRomani
It is fairly obvious, if you look at the shape language
FallenWyvern
Also use of the word "shuttlebay".

I like this post like Captaain Janeway likes to violate the prime directive so that Voyager has a longer trip home.

What is this? A shuttle bay for ANTS?
phalanaster
It needs to be 3x bigger
Luka1184
How can we be expected to teach Star Fleet recruits to learn how to fly... if they can't even fit inside the bay?
ElbowDeepInUserSub
It needs to be at least 3x bigger!
writerguy995
Oh man, the complete ship is huge. Around 33 inches long
CatskinnerKeen
I came here to say this.
Good work.

Ominous naming.

I think this one is a reference to the game: Deadspace

Guess that's why it didn't go well for the EAS Roanoke in Babylon 5...
Wasnbo
Or in Dead Space 3.
