BTW, there are influential Christian Pentecostals and Charismatics who believe Trump is instrumental in causing the ruinous end times to allow the return of Jesus to earth, to judge everybody and they can go to Heaven. They're part of Christian nationalism. So ye, a death cult is strongly active in government policy.

This is why they overlook his personal flaws and focus on how he serves their goals. They see everything he does to get into power through the lens of Biblical prophesy about end times. They don't value any aspect of American values such as the Constitution or laws, save as they serve their holy ends. His successes are viewed as God's favor, overthrowing wicked atheists and other non-believers. They believe he will deliver a (white) Christian Golden Age, Armageddon and the return of Jesus.

By "any other time" I gather you mean approximately 1950-2000? You don't have to go very far back into history for time periods where genocide was an acceptable means to an end. And even in the short window of conviction for "never again", genocide would still happen if it wasnt too big or done to people who looked too much like us.

Most of the world starts new parties fairly regularly, which is a big part of why their systems don’t suck so bad. Comments by people who seem Wholly unfamiliar with the current science on climate change, are simple wastes of bandwidth. The last admin tried to introduce a number of transformative policies all directed at regaining some position on the climate change curve. ALL were blocked by the Republican congress, and some positive policies were backpedaled. Trump has made it all far worse. Your opinion of Dem efforts for climate change are as ignorant as your 'knowledge' of climate change itself.
