If you're going to call yourself a patriot, then act like one.
Saw this in a parking lot. I've seen hundreds of improperly displayed flags in my day that barely register a second thought but for some reason this one really got to me. I thought about telling them how disrespectful it was but judging by the stickers that were plastered all over the back window I imagined their response would have been something along the lines of "aHma pATriUt n aH LuV mAh KuNtrY n iF yOu dOn LaHk iT tHen fUCk yOu."
Love it or hate it, the flag is supposed to be a symbol of who we are as a nation. Nowadays it seems little more than a prop used to used to literally beat down and divide us. I really hope that someday we can get to a place where the flag is seen by everyone as a banner of hope and freedom and love, instead of a dirty and twisted rag meant to do nothing more than declare what side you're on.

"You're nuts if you think I'm gonna let the laws of this nation tell me how I honor this nation with the symbol of this nation"

They don't care.

I...........probably wouldn't either
Iamnotawildturkey
yessss I remember this from when my brother was in cub scouts. So disrespectful how some people are to the flag that they hold dear.
OKSasquatch
My son's boy scout troop had just done a very solemn, introspective flag retirement ceremony. Maybe that's why this stuck out to me.
MadCat221
They're not a Patriot. They're a Nationalist. Do not surrender the word "Patriot" to these chucklefucks.

Yup.

Addendum: A handy guide for differentiating.

It’s scary when there are more laws and guidelines for protecting a piece of cloth than the veterans who fight to protect it.
TurboPuns21
They're not laws... they're guidelines/code of conduct. You can't go to jail for not displaying a flag correctly

And yet when those on the other side burn the flag in protest, the patriots call it treason and call for arrests or worse.
SmugandFurry
“Veteran” is a fluid concept for them. If you disagree with them, you’re suddenly “not a real veteran”.
OKSasquatch
Same applies to those Jackboots who tried to keep that obviously civilized group of patriots from peacefully touring the Capitol building.
