I want to have sex with it, but am afraid it would just be a one night stand.

That's a nightstand, not a school.

mmmm, usin the good wood for the drawers too, very nice.

Thats fantastic. Ngl. Im a little jealous. My school does everything possible to avoid hands on training

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That looks solid. I'd love the shade of black to be my desk color.

Well damn, that's the coolest thing I've seen today! Good job @Joellens!!!

This is gorgeous!?

Used to work at an ecomm furniture company. This alone would be $125-200 but cost $20 to manufacture and ship. Furn is cheaper than listing

Alex, I’ll take majors that are useful ...

So you got a 1 night stand? Nice.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

@OP I'm speaking as as a tech ed/industrial art teacher, What would you do differently if you made it again?

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I would probably find a different type of lacquer as this one is great but not entirely scratch resistant

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And I'd space out the hinges on the door to a maximum, these are blum soft close hinges so they're strong but don't work optimally this way

schon

Drop dead gorgeous. What is the matt black material? Phenolic ply?

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Black HDF! The lacquer makes the yellow speckles stand out, that's why I used it!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That’s a $400 nightstand. Very nice work. I’d buy that.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Super neat, but i have no idea what size it is. Please add a banana for scale.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I see Red Oak and I want to paint it black! (no clue if its red oak)

5 years ago | Likes 54 Dislikes 2

It's walnut!

5 years ago | Likes 55 Dislikes 0

Beautiful! Walnut and black painted MDF or something else?

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Correct! Black HDF, lacquered everything myself

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Impressed you even made the drawers out of walnut. I would have cheated and used something cheaper. Well done.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Dude same. Woods expensive. Helped on a custom maple built in bed w/drawers a few years back. Can't imagine what the price would be rn

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0
