I went there with my son 8 years ago and followed 200 people onto lake Louise as it was frozen over, guess who fell through the ice folks 🥹 lesson learnt don’t be a sheep!
This is Crowfoot Glacier on highway 93, south of Saskatchewan River Crossing (which is roughly halfway between Jasper and Banff); the lake is Bow Lake. It is indeed within Banff National Park.
Then you misunderstand. From the parking lot/visitors centre, you're still about 3km from the great views of the area where several glaciers converge. There are shuttle busses with custom tires that don't damage the ice that run tourists up and down the hill. It's a five minute ride.
My family did that in 1974. The thousand foot deep hole in the ice gave me the willies. The little rivers running down the surface tasted like ambrosia. To this day, 50 years later, I have never had water even close that perfection.
Shorter focal lengths (e.g., 24mm) offer wider angles of view and can make distant subjects appear smaller, while longer focal lengths (e.g., 200mm) narrow the field of view and magnify distant subjects.

This is filmed using a telephoto lens which exaggerates by the mountain compared to what you'd see at the human eye.

Go to the Columbia Icefields if you have the time, absolutely worth the trip. Tour in the busses is a great time.

Hard to say. I've never tried this on mountains in the background... In photos, it makes for some dramatic panaramic views.
