You’re paying for his sacrifices.

The best part is it's his own base that he is fleecing and robbing them blind. And they can't get enough of it.

When you have so many scams and bribes running, you don't need a salary

3 weeks ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

The salary is SUPPOSED to deter a president (or senator/congressman/justice) from corruption.

He gets paid in less taxable assets.

The billion $ pile isn't big enough

The scale is wrong. 400,000 divides into 2,200,000,000 5,500 times. Assuming the left hand pile is 3mm high on your screen, the right hand pile, even as a cone, would be approximately 8 metres tall. As a single width stack it would be 16.5 metres.

Picture for a second how long you would be scrolling if it were presented properly. How big that difference really is. Then ask yourself if a theft so large can ever be atoned for

Fuck 'em.

Honestly, I think the basic “crypto scams” (as in selling something with no actual value to cult members) are low on the problem scale. That they are used as a less visible way to launder dirty money from the ownership class and foreign interests is worse. The biggest problem though (imo) is the open manipulation of markets and selling off of public assets along with making war for private profit.

They’re all kinda tangled together though so meh…

Doesn't the USA have laws to forbid a president to personally gain from government operations or insider trading or give federal contracts to firms he himself owns?!???

3 weeks ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 0

The Department of Injustice is his personal law firm, the Federal Bureau of Incompetents is his personal dig-up-dirt-on-his-enemies squad, ICE is his personal goons and bullies team, and the U.S. Treasury is his personal bank account. He genuinely believes that because he's president, it's all his to do with as he pleases.

Guess who enforces those laws?

3 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

There were some but they either aren't enforced or Trump's White Christian Nationalist Court gave him immunity.

3 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Not only is it illegal, it is unconstitutional. However, the person in charge of the branch that prosecutes crimes - is him. Also, our corrupt Supreme Court has ruled he's basically immune to the law while in office. The remaining remedy, impeachment, is not being leveraged because his equally corrupt party controls all of our legislative branch via majority.

hahaha, you think the laws actually apply to the rich and powerful. (Wish I could /s this, but no, no I can't.)

3 weeks ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 0

We absolutely do. Now if only we also had a government branch dedicated to enforcing them.

3 weeks ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Laws have to be enforced. What America doesn't have is an independent branch with enough power to enforce the law upon the rich people.

If US laws were enforced against those with money or power, they'd likely not be in the hole they are.

Republicans control the house the senate the executive branch and the supreme court. Only the republicans coud prosecute Trump, and they won't.

3 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Also, he said he didn't take a salary, but has that been independently verified?

I bet he still took the money, on top of the billions he has grifted.

Nobody 'takes' a salary, it is given to you for services rendered. So there's no reason to assume he doesn't get paid in addition.

3 weeks ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

He will release his tax returns in two weeks. Then we will see.

See the jet though, that was a gift to his presidential library so that 400 million doesn't count either. The rules are what he says they are so I guess it's his planet not ours.

People already forgot he ordered the IRS to give himself $10b

3 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I bet he'd take a dollar from a kid at the vending machine.

He and his whole family are banned from running charities in new York for stealing from charities for sick children. Stealing the dollar you were supposed to give them

In 2025, the cost of flying him and all the support stuff that goes with him on his golfing trips was reportedly about equal to 250 years of his salary. That doesn't include what he charges the Secret Service and others who have to go with him (and probably many who don't have to go) for their meals and accommodations at his tacky B&B operations.

3 weeks ago | Likes 78 Dislikes 1

It also doesn’t include things like the 10 billion dollars for his Board of Peace that’s coming from…somewhere being given to…someone to accomplish….something.

3 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or all of the security upgrades that the secret service had to make to MAL (in his first term).

3 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Or the money to renovate the plane from Qatar that he gets to keep after he leaves.

3 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And golf cart rental.

3 weeks ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

Note: Not even making a joke, during his first admin he was charging the Secret Service tens of thousands of dollars a day to rent golf carts to follow him on the courses.

3 weeks ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

Not to mention the golf cart drivers' salaries.
