We had a couple bears in a park up near our capital city. I guess they were hurt or sick and so they built the bears a huge sanctuary with a wooded area and a cave… we could see them from a bridge like structure far above them. It was the best of captivity IMO, they even had a little stream. Some assholes decided that it was a good idea to climb/repel down into the bear’s habitat. The people were mauled & the city put the bears down because “THE BEARS were dangerous”!! People suck.
I was sad when the bear enclosure at my local zoo was empty one time when we visited. That guy had been there for years. We no longer have a bear to visit now.
